just acquired a completed conversion and i have questions

Calhoun cycle has several choices. Looks like 24" wheels come in a ISO 507 and ISO 520...look on your current tires and see if they mention the ISO size as they are not interchangable. My guess is that they're ISO 507. http://www.calhouncycle.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=149...

Simply awesome. Congrats Maria!! I guess I need to get a fire built and get a few bikes sold. I gotta finance a Silvio somehow... :P

    Fast Century

Great report, Mark. Last Cent. I did (2006), I averaged 13mph. The peloton @ the Clarksville "Sunrise Cent" do it over 25mph average (3:44:55 for last year's course-record run). I've got a long way to go before I can keep up! :P

    Back to "normal"...

It is blinkin' hot out. Heat index today is 102F...thank god I started my ride @ 0630. :D So comfortable to be cruzin along on the Conversion. I can tell I've been back riding again as this morning I'm stepping up and cranking along very nicely. I'm still doing mental comparisons to my other...

    Bottle Cages

I like Doug's solution...but the Fastback system allows me to hang almost 2 litres on the bike...about 2hrs worth (at least, in the heat of the summer here). I rode 30 mi today and felt dehydrated for most of the ride (though I took two 'bottle breaks'). I'm much more used to having that...

    Bottle Cages

If the Silvio seat is anything like the Conversion seat, yes, I can reach it...but it is a b*tch. I got serious arm cramping the first time I tried it. I hate bottles anyway. I'll be going the Camelbak route, thank yew!

What put you on a Cruzbike?

What put me on a Cruzbike? A predisposition towards being "different", plus an appreciation of well thought-out design. I have been 'recumbent' now for about 10 yrs. Originally, I bought a fully suspended Mt. bike with the intent to get back into some form of outdoor exercise. Having been off...

    Full disk wheels

Considering that disk wheels have a very high cool factor... Nah, I haven't weighed less than 80kg since I was 12 or 13. Most disk wheelsets are just too fragile for somebody like myself to run. I will have to be happy with covers or bladed spokes or something like that. 8-) Zipp disks run...

    Team Silvio, SoCal

Yeah, what Jon said. I can't get the other pix up either...no matter how hard I click on 'em.

    Strange ride...strange results...

Got my wheel back from above noted LBS. Installed Sat night and got the bike ready for this morning's ride. Long story short: no worries! All's well in Conversion land. The properly tensioned wheel ran true, with no distortion or deflection...no rubbing brakes, nothing. I put 30 mi on her and...
