    S40 newbie questions

Tip: Seat up when going over bumps or push your shoulders against the seat and lift off your bottom slightly to reduce the jolt from the bump. Asumming that it's only a short section.

Optimizing Fit - Eliminate Recumbutt/Hot Foot

Iam sorry I don't have sufficent skills to give a better drawing . I have edited the little drawing on my previous message. The most amount of padding is at the nose of the seat (with the adjustable plate fully extended out) making it look like the Thor Easy seat. It stops me from sliding forward.

Optimizing Fit - Eliminate Recumbutt/Hot Foot

Hi @benphyr , Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately I used a mix of black and white pieces of form padding making it difficult to get a good contrast in the picture. What you are looking at is the top of my seat pan with the cushion rolled back . In brief the idea is to make the gluteus...

Optimizing Fit - Eliminate Recumbutt/Hot Foot

Thanks @Don1. Unfortunately my home-made roller experiment did not work as intended. The rolling resistance was so bad , I could hardly make a few pedal strokes ! o_O. I abandoned the project. (I think it needs higher precision, bigger diameter rolllers with smoother bearings). My "hot foot"...

Optimizing Fit - Eliminate Recumbutt/Hot Foot

I think this should be a useful thread all together about how to fix recumbutt on S40 and other fit issues). Lets discuss. I've never ridden a V20 but Iam blessed to have a S40 gifted to me by some great friends here. I love my S40 and I ride it alot despite my initial fit and hotfoot...

Considering the bottom tabs for attaching the seat are still the same, can the old sliding bottom plate be bolted on top new seat to extend it at the base?, .. Just thinking ..

    Affordable Power Meters

:D:D:D , only way to expose any fit isssues and unreliable equipment is a long ride! A little sight of the African Savanah (before the rain). That's a termite hill the bike is leaning on. Some can grow pretty big!

    Affordable Power Meters

Went out for a long ride yesterday and got caught in a downpour. The power meter still worked flawlessly even in the wet conditions.

    Affordable Power Meters

Hello good people! I haven't posted for a while, but Iam still doing well and enjoying my S40! I have consistently noticed that I climb faster on my upright roadbike than I do on my recumbent. Besides the difference in weight , maybe 3Kgs or so, it still puzzles me why such a big performance...

Here's why pedal-steer is smaller than you think

Excellent explanation. In addition , when riding hands free, I think, the opposite leg also helps to counter that "a" component of the pedal force to cancel the steering effect. As you apply more force to climb or accellerate the value of the "a" component also also proportionately increases...

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

.. about the power. Mine is a subjective judgment really, especially on the climbs. I have no power metre to trully compare, so probably Iam actually producing similar power values but my S40 is 3Kgs, maybe 3.5Kgs more than my old Aluminium upright roadbike.
