Steering Tube Came Up Out of the Fork about an Inch...

I have zero clue why someone would not want a top cap, or in the case of a CF fork a plug.

From Garage Innovation to Road Revolution: The Six-Generation Evolution of the Cruzbike S40

Indeed LOL! But for sure it is the recumbent workhorse... at the moment. :-) This is a pic I like to reference people to on the "can it carry gear?" question.

From Garage Innovation to Road Revolution: The Six-Generation Evolution of the Cruzbike S40

I can tell you - because I met with the engineers of a few of the better CF companies in Taiwan - getting the S40 (or V20) main frame as a "clone" version of itself down lighter than it is currently is next to impossible without then needing to be very thin, or have a rider weight limit in the...

From Garage Innovation to Road Revolution: The Six-Generation Evolution of the Cruzbike S40

First - for sure - you can only trust AI so far, and IMHO the only 100% thing we can trust AI for is to be our ultimate doom. But I digress... Basics for things that are important for the frame/geometry and not component or color related: Gen 1 - Same fork as the V20 at the time. More limited...

Steering Tube Came Up Out of the Fork about an Inch...

If you cut down the steer tube you must reinstall a NEW star nut in the top of the fork. The cap is 100% essential as without the cap and proper spacers you cannot set the headset tension. The purpose of the star nut is to allow the "pull down" leverage of the cap to the spacers. Order of...

    Convert Q45 to ebike

It is not going to be for a while as I have to scope out some things at Taipei Cycle which is at the end of March. The Skarper concept though is sound and it looks like it is easily adapted.

    Convert Q45 to ebike

These types of additions are what we should be aiming for IMHO. They are more realistic of what these should be - an assist - and not the idea of tuning a bike into basically an electric motorcycle meant to be run throttle only for a metric century. True assist only. I can get behind that. Also...

BRNW - 2026 - This will be one for the record books - We hope to see you there!

I have been on that same road. It is a bear. But the payoff for the climbs are SUMBLIME downhills and long sections of river grade cruising. Oh yes - this is my favorite type of terrain even if there are brief sections that are just a hai bit much to climb. When I can walk faster than I can ride...

Freehub replacement and wheel manufacturer information needed

The stock wheels use Chosen hubs. https://www.chosenhubs.com/products/ The Part numbers for these change constantly but this is likely the one: https://www.chosenhubs.com/products-detail/74/ Robert

Probably, Not really, Likely..... Stay tuned.

    My maiden voyage

The two main things I always try to get people to think about when starting as you mentioned perfectly: 1. Relax ( but not to the point of letting the bike be in control of you) 2. Don't overthink

    Going ultra on the S40?

LOL! Scrolling upon this just about made me spit my morning coffee on my laptop. Perfect.

    New S40 colours.

I can say for sure - not going to change until the next batch gets made, which is not currently in process - and once it is the timeline from raw material to bikes-in-hand is well over 7-8 months typically. So for the new bikes in stock the colors are set. That said - we are always taking...

Need help with S40 Gen 5 brifter

Apex will work great. We had to move to the Microshift style for those S40's as those bikes were made during the covid years when SRAM was literally not available - at all - to smaller OEM's. The SRAM components that are on the current generation 6 S40 were on backorder for nearly 18 months even...

    Van Rysel D100 Smart trainer

Seems like a clean slim design - I imagine it would work well.

    Going ultra on the S40?

Many of your cons are actually more pros: Climbing - once acclimated this is not really an issue. Possibly a bit "slower" than many uprights but 100 times more comfortable. On equal climbs in my years of training, I arrive at the top of the hill 10 mins or so later on my Cruzbike than I would...

    V20c chain line question

The above is great advice. The BB cups also need a spacer for the V20C. The corder set was primarily sourced for the S40 and there haven't been many people try it on the V20C. For the wider shell of the V20C likely a 6mm offset is needed, which we do not have, unfortunately. The only other...

    Second Stem Cutdown

Nice! On the Q bikes doing a steer tube trim for a finer fit can make for much better handling for sure. Same for the S40 though there is much less steer tube exposed. V20 and V20c folks - it is what it is - no room there for any trimming. ☺️
