Original dimension Drop bar on S40

Heads up for new S40 gars - the stock bars are just a 2cm wider clone of the largest stock Salsa Woodchipper II bar - in case you were looking for a comparable to compare against.

    Sofrider headset installation

Does it say "Diatech" on the side? If so that is the older Diatech (DiaCompe) expanding headset cap: Sadly I have been looking for 15 minutes now on the parts order to no avail. These headsets have not been used since the early 2000's by most companies. They were the rage in the late 1990's...

Great interview with Jim and Maria

I am pretty sure the Onewheel that Maria is learning is one of those electric ones, not a unicycle. I can't remember if it's one of the "sideways" stance (Actual Onewheel) style or one of the "face forward" style though.

Great interview with Jim and Maria

That is indeed a great listen. The freedom of biking Jim talks about in the intro is right up my GenX alley. Parents didn't care where we were unless it was sundown (for good or bad) and even then it just meant you were in trouble for missing "dinner" and the absence of the plague called cell...

    Tire sizes

The 48c will be a good wide tire as mentioned but not too tight. Some good micro-knobbies will be much more grabby.

v20 vs v20c Initial Look and Comparison

This is a great and honest assessment I feel. It was part of the design question challenge for the V20c - can a bike that is already very optimized to its near peak be improved? The danger is always making a great thing worse than its own previous version, and just making changes for changes...

    lower handlebars?

That front end employs a pretty standard stem and MTB style bar, but you can easily change to a different stem that has a 31.8 handlebar clamp size and try different road bars. I haven't tried road bars on that type of front end myrtle but the parts make for an easy swap. Robert

    SRAM APEX GPX BB

The angled bearing cups are not ideal for this, but it will work. Ideally you can source a GXP compatible BB that has flat bearing casings - I think Wheels MFG makes one.

    Affordable "Cruzbike" Short Cranks

Yikes. Having a crank bolt sheer off is bad enough, but deadly potentially on an upright where the entirety of the riders body is often bearing down on just the cranks - especially in an MTB situation.

    Looking for an S40 seat

That is correct - the S40 seat angle has not chanced from the first S40 batch.

    Front triangle upgrade for V1.5

The best bet is to send an email to support@cruzbike.com - yes parts are available but they are not unlimited, so we have to make sure everything needed for the big would be around. As we have moved on to the V20C front end (which is not backwards compatible with any of the old frames of any...

    Curved Slider or not

Your V should be an easy candidate for a longer stay (QR style) or a curved slider... or both depending on what your goals are. My question is: How do the cranks "feel" to you? If you are riding around and having a nagging feeling that they seem to feel "too low" and that is the first thought...

    Florida Bike Safari 2024 - April 13-18

Definitely - once we get closer we can set up a WhatsApp or other preferred group/app communication. There is also the AM breakfast where usually we all get a chance to meet up and go over who is doing what for the day and do a group photo/group start to the ride. A mix of planning and...

Tools for removing cranks and bottom bracket on Q45?

You would need an 8mm Allen to remove the outside crank bolt and then a crank puller, as well as a BB removal wrench or adapter, and a good crescent wrench or socket for them: https://a.co/d/h3zh9b9 https://a.co/d/3X04PfP On the BB tools there are many versions - some brands (Shimano) even...

    Florida Bike Safari 2024 - April 13-18

We are hoping for a really good turnout! It was a great time last year - good rides, great company, and great food too!

    Q45 Updated Seat?

The new seat is a resin material. It is not necessarily lighter than the aluminum, the aluminum seat will likely be the lightest that seat could ever be... but the resin does have a bit better feel and is much more comfortable over the long haul. It can be had as an replacement, though I can't...

Upgrading boom/chainstay on first gen Vendetta

Unfortunately, the V1 Vendetta had an entirely different fork dropout design, as well as different chain stay design, which fit the boom differently, etc etc...so swapping parts on those bikes is nearly impossible. There are also slight differences in the fork rake/headtube length, etc that can...
