    Vosadrian's V20 Journey - Australia

I did a lot of commuting on my V20 pre-pandemic, and I regularly carried my 13” MacBook Pro in my scarab bag. It is a tight fit. I put some clothes under it and some on top. Watch out for this failure mode, though. The zipper came unzipped by itself. Good thing it is a tight fit!

    Tire Recommendations

If you are willing to go tubeless, the Conti 5000 TL tires are the real deal. I've yet to have one of those punctures that never really seals up enough to hold normal pressure. They may not be easy to get on your rims, though.

How do you make a workout fun?

I don't think anyone noticed. And I didn't use it the entire time. When I was third in line to pull, I moved up and stayed up there until my turn was complete. I told my teammates after the race that I had used the tactic, and they didn't have much to say. The guy from ATP who I learned from...

How do you make a workout fun?

Why would some frown on it? I think it works well for a TTT because the pace is relatively constant. In a large peloton like the ZRL scratch races the peloton speed oscillates/surges too much for it to work well.

How do you make a workout fun?

I tried a new tactic for recovering while sitting in that I gleaned from watching a guy who is really good at maintaining average speed with the lowest possible W/kg. While in the blob I would get off the power a bit so that I would slowly drift back in the blob, then do 3-4 hard pedal strokes...

    Race number 74 up next

The smoke has been terrible here, too. But I've been able to Zwift because I moved the trainer into the house from the garage, bought two air purifiers, and put a MERV14 filter in the heating system. Gets pretty hot and humid by the end of the race/ride, though. AQI is pretty good today, though...

    New race case?

The first version of the new race case had problems like that for me and others. Cruzbike updated it, and sent me the latest version, which I've been using for a couple months. My first test ride was on a route with some of the roughest pavement that is close to the house. The route includes the...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

I concur with everything Larry said about Tegaderm. I’ve had good results with Neosporin. Probably any reputable anti-bacterial will work.

Tegaderm works great for road rash. You can get it at a drug store like Walgreens. Hope you heal well and quickly.

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

I set my PR five weeks ago. The subsequent two weeks I was almost a minute slower, which made me realize I needed some recovery rides as I was ramping up my training. The past two weeks were closer, only off PR by 7-8 seconds. Recovery week this week, so no TT. Hopefully I can kill it next week...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

A Tale of Two Rides - "It was the best of times (Week 5), it was the worst of times (Week 6)". It felt like my legs were spinning in molasses. And the level of ache and pain required to hold the Week 5 power level felt like 80 more watts. To counter the nervousness and dread, I like to try new...
