And full disclosure. My was on the S30 when I was run over a couple years ago. It feels structurally sound, but there appear to be a couple of small cracks near the outside edge.
I have two holes for the wings up front, which are probably in the same position on the S30 as on the V20. Then I have two sets of holes that I use farther up the frame to tie wrap the seat around the frame instead of using screws. You could use those, or drill some holes. It's up to you.
Ice socks: . A former colleague who does a lot of endurance racing told me about them. She said wrapping it around the neck so that it cools the carotid artery is most effective. But shoving them inside my jersey is probably easier.
I entered the six-hour race, so I don't think freezing is likely.
Thanks for the feedback. It will be helpful for race prep and tactics.
One additional question: did you wear ice socks or anything like that to keep cool while racing?
I've entered the 6-hour sprint, and it appears that @Jeffrey Ritter and Marcel Graber have entered the 12-hour race. Anyone else going?
For those who have entered this race in the past or have attended, how is the road surface? I'm thinking of running 25c Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tires. Good...
Last week I was recovering from 9 hours of jet lag, and the grey, gloomy weather from the "atmospheric river" was making the recovery slow. But I felt strong at the start. However, just 3.5 miles in I started picking up a side stitch. My fitness right now isn't great, and being off the bike for...
The problem I had with 2Laps-Watopia is that sometimes Zwift starts the segment on the second lap (that was the case for Weeks 0 and 1), but other times Zwift starts it on the first lap (Week 2). I was using the first lap as a warmup, so my Week 2 time for that segment was 10 minutes slower. I...
Last week Larry and I had a problem with the 2Laps-Watopia segment on Zwift. I see that someone created another segment called Cruzbike Volcano Flats 2X TT. Is there a landmark for the start/end of that segment? Is it the high-rise building on the right-hand side of the road?
What is the Tribe's experience with running a 650c wheel on the rear of their Vendetta, while keeping the 700c on the front? It would lower my head by ~25mm, which I should think would be more aero.
But kidding aside, what do you think about using average speed divided by average heart rate for the performance metric? Then you could reward those who improve their ratio of speed to effort. Plus it would make it harder for cheaters like me to game the competition. ;)
Suz, I feel the same way. We have friends who are dog-lovers, and when I tell them this story and what i’d like to do to this dog, they just cringe. But my wife just laughs. Maybe jond is on to something.
