Watch out for the rough spots without clip-less pedals. Before I switched to clip-less, I would hit rough spots and my feet would come off the pedals. One time both feet came off due to a rough patch caused by tree roots, and I nearly crashed. With clip-less I've gotten air, and even a little...

    New powered wheel

I found the installation video on the Evelo website, so now I get it. They do say on their website that the BB sensor is for an "alternative installation", so maybe it isn't required.

    New powered wheel

@mzweili, what is the Omni pedelec feature, and why would it be difficult to install on a CB?

I'd recommend putting clip-less pedals on as soon as possible. They really help improve control. I started with double-sided SPDs, and set the spring tension to the minimum so that I could clip out quickly and effortlessly.

    The V Chronicles

Which side do the flat spacers go on? BTW, the spacer with the cutouts for the splines is there. It was adhering so well from the grease that I didn't see it at first.

Cobb rings and cranks....available stock in 145 and 155mm crank lengths. These are 145. Perfect. Any longer and I would have had to either cut the boom or drill out the water cage mounts on the slider. I left the round chainrings on in light of the concensus that Q rings are of less benefit w...

    Mt Diablo ride with BARC

Did another ride with BARC up Mt Diablo on New Year's Day. This time we rode all the way to the top and down. Here is a photo of the bike traffic at the Junction Ranger Station (halfway up). This one is from the top looking west. You can see the Golden Gate over the bump in the far ridge...

Looks like the Electron Wheel should work on the non-drive wheel of a Sofrider. http://www.electronwheel.com/ Anyone have experience with it?

    electric assist

Thanks for all of the input. After researching some more, I think what we want is a pedelec (i.e., proportional assist), not a throttle-controlled assist. But I'd like to put it on the rear (non-drive) wheel. Pedelecs appear to be the norm in Europe. Any input on where I could find a...

    electric assist

I'm interested in retrofitting my wife's Sofrider with an electric assist. We'd like it to be easy to swap the non-electric wheel in and out so that she doesn't have to carry the extra weight on flat rides. So I figure maybe an e-assist for the non-drive-wheel would be best. But don't really...
