    Record Collection

Admit it: you're having a ball, right now! :D It'll only get better. -Steve PS I predict that Cruzbikes will be attracting top-calibre athletes, as the potential of your MBB bicycles becomes more widely known. Maria's records speak volumes!

    Maria's next record attempt

Re: Maria's successful record attempt Congratulations! Excellent effort, everyone. Very inspiring! Great reporting, as well. (Now I must make a front wheel disc and work on handlebar ergonomics/aerodynamics!) Again, Congratulations, Maria and everyone. -Steve

    Sofrider "V 1.2"

Sofrider "V 1.2" Update It rained for a solid week, last month, so I bit the bullet and built my wood/fibreglas composite chainstay. Finally. [URL='http://s273.photobucket.com/albums/jj205/yakmurph/?action=view&current=IMG_0003.jpg class="bb-url">[/URL] The prototype worked so well that I...

    Vendetta Prototype, first pic.

Hiya, Mark: Riding my modified Sofrider, of course. Modifying my own modified chain stay, which is now a stiffer, sleeker, more aerodynamic composite- construction part. 8-) In other words, it's more fun for me to ride and occasionally read about riding than it is to write about...

    Vendetta Prototype, first pic.

Beautiful! Is the chain stay a standard Silvio CarboYoke? Hopefully it's installed as a stop-gap. Thanks, Steve

What put you on a Cruzbike?

It was inevitable. You know and I know that we're preachin' to the choir here, right? Right! Anyway.... D.F. bikes, unfortunately, do not fit me. Anymore. So there's that. The front-wheel drive, fully suspended Cruzbike is an elegant solution for my needs. (It is all about me.) I bought my...

Strapless Toe Clips / Power Grips

I use Power Straps. They work well up until my leg muscles are quivering with fatigue, then I wish I were using a more modern pedal/shoe combination. I used toe clips exclusively when young, but that was a long time ago. Power Straps feel normal to me; 'clipless' pedals look alien/foreign. If...

    Drugs, Sex, Rock and Roll

Yes. (Short answer.) :? Longer answer: My severely sprained ankle is still recovering. All my bike-miles are being done, while healing completes, in the stupid gym on stupid stationary recumbent bikes. Clarification: Wine is a drug, right? :D Steve

    BROL Bike of Year Awards

Cruzbike will win.... with a newer, flashier model. It ought to have a catchy name. "Carbent" is pretty catchy, right? Right. Call the new Cruzbke, "CarTire". CarTire would be shorthand for, Carbon Titanium Racer, Elite. Seriously, the winner does not matter to me, as a consumer. My bike...

    Handlebar got bent, what now?

It's a steel part, so it'll hold your repair -bending it back into shape. But first, before you bend it, remove it from the bike: you don't want to bend anything else! -Steve

    Powdercoating your Silvio frame

Very stable 3-D image: well done. I needed to cross my eyes to see the 3-D: looking at the images as if it were an old 'stereo opticon' pic. won't work. Nice bike! -Steve

    Cruzbike slam on ActionBent site

I've drawn a line in the sand with my big toe. I've scrawled the word, "Cruzbike" above the line in the sand, labeling the line. With a piece of driftwood, I've written on one side of the line, "Sane". And the on the other side of the line, "Insane". I'm just enjoying my Sofrider.... Soon...

    Silvio Colors!

Yes! I have taken a lot of stereographs, both off-hand like you did with your example above and when taking stereo micrographs on electron microscopes. Stereo is both fun and can be more informative than standard 2-D photographs. Nice picture, by the way. Thanks! -Steve

    Chilly vinter riding

Snip/ /Snip I employ rider-induced moving-BB swerving, on the road. Makes me look untrustworthy; makes most drivers more aware of my presence. (I only need one 'evil' smiley...'cause I mean it.) -Steve

    Sofrider "V 1.2"

...So, how's your new frame hunt going? You've got the right idea, in my opinion! And, to stay on topic? My proof-of-concept plywood chain stay is still working fine, no problems, very dependable: I'll never get to make the pretty composite part in my head, at this rate. Another bonus of...

    So confusing, the FWD stuff!

Disk wheel on the back... make that a front wheel, please; 'mag' (aero!) wheel on the front... that'd be a rear wheel, naturally. Thank you. Thank you, very much. :D -Steve (-has left the auditorium.)

    Not-a-'Mark B.'-Report

55 degrees F. today, after weeks of Arctic air, ice and snow. So I went riding, of course. I immediately noted the marked decrease in performance of my Sofrider: that Obama inauguaration party I attended is one of the reasons. Great party: Awesome, bottomless food; open wine bar and, for once...

    Silvio Colors!

Pretty! I lean more towards gray. Dappled gray would be very nice. Urban camo.... Hey, on a bike I'm invisible ANYway! Seriously though, nice: your bike'll look awesome. :P -Steve

    Nice People

The title, "Nice People" is a blatant lie. You knew that, right? :? There. I can be as sarcastic as anyone... even you! My first thought after having read your account was, "I'm glad Mark wasn't armed!" Ride on, Mark. Ride on! -Steve
