    El Paso Chile Pepper Challenge

Next? 1) Flo wheels - FedEx handed off to USPS in Dallas today so the wheels should be here in a few more days. 2) Serious consideration of a power meter. 3) Full fledged bike computer with the bells and whistles. 4) Serious evaluation of winter weather here in the desert Southwest. Do I need a...

    El Paso Chile Pepper Challenge

An El Paso Bicycle Club annual event. http://www.elpasobicycleclub.com/cpc/ There were about 900 riders signed up for this event. Our group of about 200 strong arrived to partly cloudy skies and a north wind about 8-10 mph for the 62 mile ride starting at 7:30AM. Temperature was about 58F...

    GPS speedo accuracy

Today, following the advice of Bob and Larry, I moved the Wahoo Speed Rpm sensor to the front wheel of the V. On the rear wheel the sensor would intermittently drop the signal to my iPhone which is mounted on the slider. Installing the sensor on the front hub was difficult as the elastic band...

    FWDRWS bike

That is really nicely done. I wonder what it weighs. If someone held the rider upright while at a standstill would the rider be able to turn either wheel?

Why are road bumps so much more obtrusive on a recumbent?

Rerun a section of the video and concentrate on the contact patch of the wheel. Those knobby tire really do stick.

A few questions about the Silvio & Vendetta

Bob 10, I have had a red V20 Vendetta since November 2014. I initially used the carbon fiber seat and Ventisit seat pad from Cruzbike. I was never able to find a really satisfactory neckrest position that was comfortable for me because of my height (5'6" or 168cm) so I changed to the Thor seat...

    Core temperature

trplay, Try inserting the skewer from the cassette side so when removing the wheel the cam end will be above the wheel and the nut will drop into the hand underneath the wheel.

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

After looking at Figure 1 and Table S1 I knew there was no reason for me to pay $31.50 USD to go over the wall. Way beyond my level of comprehension. Table S1, starting with #62 "Supplemental experimental procedures" and forward is easier reading. To think that the FDA has approved an...

Do you push or do you pull?

For a time I carried a cell phone in an armband worn on the upper arm when riding a Silvio 1.0. Always made me aware of the upper arm muscle contractions while the bike was essentially going straight down the road.
