Zwift - Cruzbike Activities (races and group rides)

I woke up at 2:15am this morning and could not go back to sleep. So I logged onto Zwift and rode in their 163Km "B" race as I knew today and tomorrow was forecast to be super rainy. It was supposed to be a steady state 3.0 W/KG, but seemed to fluctuate a lot. 127 riders started and only 18...

    Raven Rock Ramble 2019

Try putting your cleats mide sole - that have helps many people. I just made a small adapter out of 1/8" thick aluminum for my look cleats. Works great - have never had hot foot since switching and I would get it regularly. If you are a "point your toe" pedaling you will have to move your boom...

    It's here and it's: MAGIC!

I was hit by some huge gusts today at my local track. sustained winds where about 20-25, but on a track even those feel like gusts because at some point you have to turn and get hit by then. I almost lost control when a "huge" gust hit my right when turning. It took my breath away and caused me...

    It's here and it's: MAGIC!

Thanks - Will Probably do the races at Northbrook velodrome in July. There is also a local "ride" but has some pretty steep the first of June. I may try and ride the course first to see how I do.

    It's here and it's: MAGIC!

When John originally built the first "4" front ends, non of them had left or right chain stays. I did not really want them, He added them for extra strength for people like Kyle and Jason who can push 1200 watts. It looked really cooler without them. This one you are referring to is his (with...

    It's here and it's: MAGIC!

Nope - That is John's stock seat - I have already starting doing tweaks that is making it faster. Dropped the seat a full inch straight down for 14 degree angle. Cutting out the top of the seat for one that is above my shoulders. I am working on my own custom seat to wrap my shoulders and have...

    It's here and it's: MAGIC!

Thanks - Yeah that is Brazilian Mahogany - 1100sq. ft of it. Took me a month to build it. The wood is 3 times denser than oak, so dense it will not even absorb moisture. Pretty much lasts forever. You cannot even nail a nail into it. You must drill first. I bisket-join all the boards together.

    It's here and it's: MAGIC!

Yes he did - it just want to quite as aero - but still a piece of art. It was a one-of-a-kind. I sold it to a "collector"

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you could breed a Cruzbike V20 FWD MBB recumbent with a Morciglio Arrowhead RWD recumbent? Well maybe you have not, but I did - partly because at the time I owned the only Arrowhead in existence, and a V20, and partly because I am just a little...

    What would you do?

Since you are purchasing your new bent mainly for commuting and not all out speed, I would still choose the S40. It will be a little slower than the S30 but not significantly based on the speeds you will probably be going. Once you get the real speed bug and want to race and go really fast, then...

    200K brevet in Trondheim, Norway

Great write up Tor - I will have to say it was fun reading your account - and I will have to say, your English is extraordinary! Much better than mine unfortunately! If you ever get over to the US, look me us and we can go riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. :)

    What would you do?

I'd buy all three - run tests for a couple years at every power level for all possible riding situations - then settle on the V20! (That is because after all the testing scenarios you will be super buff, and expert MBB rider and will just want to go as fast as possible. But that is just me...

Test riding a true racing recumbent

Use Molten speed wax. You chain never gets dirty and lasts about 3 times longer. Love it and will never use anything different.

"Winter" - Cruzbike Virtual Time Trial Challenge

I am still waiting to from Robert and Jim. So far only 5 of the 14 have posted a ride for week #10. A little disappointing since it was the last week, but that is the way it goes. :( I did so badly (16 secs off my PB) that Rob Lloyd has a big opportunity to catch and/or pass me in points since...

"Winter" - Cruzbike Virtual Time Trial Challenge

Thanks Brian. Yeah, I was pretty wasted this last week after my 211 miles Texas RAAM event, then a Hare & Hound race on Zwift on Wed - Fri I did not have much in the tank. Probably my worst showing in the 10 weeks. Thanks for being a part of it. Hoping to do another one in the "summer" - when...
