    Mounting dynamo light on cruzbike

I fixed mine on the two triangular bits of metal above the BB. There are already holes there for the bolt.

    Something is against me here

Riding my Silvio restored my sanity after building it drove me barmy.

    Ouch

So, the first time, you got on, fell off really badly, and were still stubborn enough to give it another go.

MBB on a diet (9 kilograms)

    Probably would need a spring.

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

Rear hub is good, because the other idea adds weight to the front, which could make the steering go weird. And an electric rear wheel is easy to detach. And less danger of spin.

    First time on a Cruzbike

Welcome to the tribe. You are right about the leaning.

    Gravel Run

The one weakness of the Cruzbike idea is the front-wheel-spin. Asbury Park looks do-able for me on my Grasshopper or my Silvio, the only difference being that I would be happy to bring the Grasshopper to a halt. The secret on a Cruzbike is not to stop.

    Gravel Run

No they are not, they are dropping their spines, the bloody buggers. They love cyclists. Best entertainment they get all day. Are they the type that drop spines in bunches that stick out like sea-urchins? I would like to get Tannus, just to ride back and forth past those bastards. That will...

MBB on a diet (9 kilograms)

Neither did I. In my case it is the other way round.

    first S40 ride today

Slightly. It will make a difference to those of you who commute or ride a lot in traffic. Those who spend their time hurtling down Mt Diablo like a guided missile will probably not notice.

    first S40 ride today

You have to learn, by mileage, how to get it set up right. I think everyone who gets a Cruzbike goes through a period of in-and out with the boom, and turning the handlebars this way and that. I did a lot of this. I cut the boom. And to anyone who thinks that they have reached the end of...

    Ouch

I did the superman thing. I think it was more like a swallow dive. I got a bash on the chin which caused a cut - looked like I had lost a fight. I had grazes all down my throat and my shirt buttons were ripped off. I think my head bent back as I hit the road. Someone said that this spread...

    Cruztrike???

People will look up "bicycle" and see pictures of the weird old bikes their ancestors used to ride - DF bikes. People will see someone on a DF and say "Bizarre contraption, doesn't look safe to me," and dive out of the way. People who have DF will post on the DF forum, complaining because the...

    Ouch

Privilege schmivilege, it is a bummer. I know some people do a lot of miles, and still their bikes show absolutely no signs of wear and tear. Bent a pedal - must have been a hell of a crash. You must have hit the edge of the obstacle. Had you been just a bit over to the side you would have...

    Ouch

After falling off and getting up again, did you attempt to identify your nemesis? Is the wheel bent? I am more worried about sharp objects and holes in the road than I am about cars.

Where does the motivation go when commuting

Cycling is good for the brain, for some reason. Some people are fortunate enough to enjoy their job. They arrive at their place of work eager to start working. For the less fortunate ones... You arrive at your crappy, tiring-but-unfulfilling job and meet your crappy, tiring-but-unfulfilling...

Has anyone tried a CruzBike "fixie?"

Front wheel drive fixie is a penny-farthing.
