    Bargain or not

Wait till Cruzbike make a CF bike with an integrated computer. And Rotor hydraulic gears. Can you cut the boom?

    Rotor UNO groupset

Indexing at the other end. The Disraeli gears manufacturers should have thought of that long ago. Hub gears do it. Do not worry about fluctuations in wire-tension. Use a friction shifter. I like mine.

    Recumbent Newbie

On my Silvio I went from 170 to 155. I had a problem with the B bracket, but then I fixed it. I like the 155. The weirdness is going away. The cadence is creeping up. So is the speed. Also, I think it has improved the handling.

    Disk Brake on Silvio?

The hy/rd do not seem as strong as the Maguras on my Grasshopper. I have TRP because they are the only ones with road levers.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

My Silvio only does wheel-spins when there is a audience. On the up-slope out of a subway. When a motorist stops to let me out at a junction. Attention-seeking.

    Disk Brake on Silvio?

My Silvio2 has hy/rd with Nokon cables. Front disk is 183. There is clearance for a bigger disk.

    Recumbent Newbie

I had 145 cranks for about a week, until the BB fell to bits, when I had to revert to 165. In the end I decided it was my fault, so I am now waiting for the delivery of a new BB of the same type, which I think will last a bit longer. I think, for that week, I found the bike easier to handle...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Very very very neat. Even the steering retain spring is the right colour. My poor Silvio is scratched, muddy, covered in insulating-tape, wired-on mudguards. And I bet you do more miles than I do. I do not know how you do it. Day before yesterday: nearly couldn't stop. Yesterday: undid the...

    Recumbent Newbie

My heel-clips are cut-down toe-clips, and I thought I was clever to make them. If you can build that bike in your shed you can make heel-clips.

    Recumbent Newbie

I am just a customer of this company. I hope I do not offend anybody now, because I am saying that nobody will be offended by an imitation-Cruzbike. Try first and learn. I got a conversion-kit because it was the cheapest Cruzbike. I just about managed to control it, but it was a fight. I...

Why didn't I think of that.

Not all guitar players use pedals. A cyclist has one on each side. For guitar players: "fret" and "bridge", although that would confuse Hendrix. Taking the pedals off, or taking the BB to bits. One side has its screw-thread the wrong way round. What? Which way round? Have I cross-threaded...

Cargo capacity successes, attempts, and ideas thread.

You are reducing the space between you and the handlebar clamp. What happens if you lean forward?

Why didn't I think of that.

And for the pianists and organists among us - drive side is treble.

    New Silvio Owner in Oregon

Main learnings... Silvio seems to be getting easier to control - gradually. When doing slow, tight turns in traffic jams or in pedestrian places (I do a lot of this) I had a tendency to fall to the inside of the turn. Eventually, the obvious thought occurred - I was leaning too much. I...

It is a tweaking and learning experience. I have been tweaking and learning for two years.

    front wheel change

I do not complain about changing the tube on the Silvio because I am too busy complaining about changing the tube on the Grasshopper. Small wheels. So hard to get the tyre off. The tyre lever pinged off and hit me on the head. I narrowly missed losing an eye. Getting the tyre back on is a...

    Hello, recumbent noob

I have disk brakes. I think it could happen with rim brakes too. Better than going over the handlebars and getting a faceful of road.

Assusie on Assusie banter (we are not sure they are speaking english)

Actually, jond is right. World citizens. All this tribalism is daft. We should leave that to the BROL flamers.
