has anyone tried bars like this?

cruzbike.com/forum/threads/i-cut-the-boom.8678 This thread shows my handlebar modification. I wanted my hands low, like yours, but I actually discovered I like high hands. I had to swap the brake levers, so I swapped the cables. Probably will not work for you. I think my boom is closer to...

It means that your bike is wobbly and hard to steer. Some people say "squirly"

How to "try" to capture a KOM .. or .. Stop Light remote needed

I HATE traffic lights. Round and round you went - you could do a century like that. You might as well stay on the track. And how can that be KOM? There aren't any M there. It looks as flat as a tabletop. I do not want to belittle Larry. I find it hard to do 33mph going downhill.

    Silvio S 30 Thailand

This is one of my heel-clips. It has a toe-clip, cut down and installed backwards. I was lucky enough to have some old metal components in the shed that were exactly the right size. They are probably not as effective as proper clipless, but they solve the main problem of pedalling a 'bent -...

An anniversary, or milestone of sorts!

I got a conversion kit 3 years ago. I graduated to a S in April 2014. And Mr "Cruz Merckx" Oslund has already gone about 200 times as far as me, at about 200 times my speed, and he is not even Belgian. Larry, you are KOC (King of the Cruzbikes).

    I cut the boom

You have understood it. Maybe it is because I ride on my insteps, which makes my X-seam effectively short. My hands are slightly above my shoulders. I find high hands really comfortable, which surprises me. I originally wanted low hands, but I am glad I gave that up. Everybody keeps talking...

My first ride on my Silvio S30

You fell as you turned. Did you fall towards the inside of the turn? This seems to be a common thing with new riders. It kept happening to me until I realised how to compensate. When you turn, if you feel that you are about to fall outwards, you will get round the turn.

    I cut the boom

The problem for me was not leg-clearance, but chest-clearance. At the moment I think I have solved it, after 100 miles. The bars in your picture are good, but the boom still protrudes backwards from the bar-ends. With my bars, the boom hardly protrudes at all. I am not comfortable with a...

    I cut the boom

Latest handlebar version This is the best yet. The handlebar clamp is really far forward, so the bars are nearly touching my legs. This makes it a lot easier to lean forward. I wanted my hands to be low, so I inverted the bars, so the bar-ends pointed downwards. Then the bar ends trapped...

Spring Time - Learning To Ride Time

Bears, ostriches, otters. All seems a bit exotic to me. All I see is cats, squirrels, dogs, foxes and geese. Geese do not like getting out of the way.

    Silvio ready to roll

There is a company called Redline BMX, who make cranks called Microline, which come in various lengths. I have 150 in my Silvio. I got them from American eBay. They come with a BB, which you need because it is Redline's own design. I broke one BB because I did not fit it properly. I now...

Testing week in Asheville, NC June 25 - July 1

Which bike is fastest going up and down on its rope? Is natural fibre better than nylon? Is it worth replacing the pulleys with Enduro? Larry will find out.
