These are through axle and disc brake (center lock). They were made very specifically for the V20C only.

Main thing in my experience (PNW where it rains 4 months of the year) get the grippiest tires made for wet traction. "fast" speedy tires will wash out. Just like cars the tire choice will make all the difference.

I really am not a fan of "model years" (thanks GM from the 1950's for that concept...automotive "model years" to coincide with the fall TV shows for primary purpose of marketing...) but I digress.

The hub is a straight up standard Shimano/SRAM freehub.

Pretty much any 11 speed cassette should work, other than Shimano that tend to shift better with Shimano chain... That said the cassette is either a SRAM PG1130 or a Microsift XLE CS-H113 As we are in "covid times" for obtaining any QTY of components - I have to sometimes have different specs...

I can say with absolute certainty that the same rider on both these bikes - the V20 will casually pull away from the S40 with very little effort on flat roads. When two riders are together - one on an S40 and the other on a V20 - and of roughly equal ability, the V20 rider will often be doing...
