100 miles in under 3 hours

Dorothy did it years ago but she was wind-assisted. And where she finished was not in Kansas. That Campagnolo is not as beautiful as the ones they made in the 1970s.

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

There is a thread about that on this forum. Is @ak-tux going to Battle Mountain? It takes ages and miles to get a Cruzbike to fit you right. Everybody experiences this. Eventually @ak-tux will get it right and it will feel like a total blast. Was it raining on that TT? Get mudguards. Keep...

Looks like I'm gonna be an S40 owner Friday!

Blimey, terrifying! Do you feel lucky or unlucky? A rescue mission, and it was you they had to rescue.

Drafting world record, faster on a Cruzbike?

She said she gets a tailwind when she is near top speed. What is really scary is that she said the car suddenly slowed down and she slammed into it.

    Parts Compatibility

I have a single chainwheel and 11sp cog. I got a pair of shifters. Chainwheel one was a friction shifter and cog one was 10sp indexing. The chainwheel one had a lever throw of about 90degrees, which was not nearly enough. I took them both to bits and combined them. The resulting lever still...

    Parts Compatibility

Do not worry about it. Just make a friction shifter and get a Jtek Shiftmate.

Drafting world record, faster on a Cruzbike?

He broke his olecranon. I did the same thing. I cannot straighten my right arm. Riding DF makes my elbow hurt. He is lucky he can still ride so far. Years ago some bloke on the radio said he wanted to cycle at 140mph. He said he could do the ton but the car could not go any faster. Anyway...

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Traffic in Nairobi looks no worse than traffic in London. The best way to get used to the bike is to use it for commuting. I thought the videos of @LarryOz looked scary. Kenyans drive on the same side as British. Maybe you Americans should turn your screens round and look at the @ak-tux...

    Where did Bazzawill go

I bet there is a forum about coffee where @bazzawill has got them all talking about their Cruzbikes.

    Midfoot Cleat Adapters

I read somewhere that this thing about the balls of your feet is a myth born of fear of toe-strike. I ride recumbents and I ride on my insteps not my balls.

    Where did Bazzawill go

So do you put home-ground single-estate black coffee in your water bottle? Do you have a weird upside-down back-to-front grinder that really annoys the International Union of Grinders?

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

I might fix the washer to the cog with a tiny bit of loctite. It only matters when I get a front flat in the street. I do not want to get neurotic. That really worries me. Have you been eating pulses? Jet power is a lot more fun than a pedelec. When you overtake people you really burn them off.

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

The washer for my gears has a hole just the right size to fit on the axle. Outer diameter is 2cm. I just happened to have it. The advantage of being a hoarder. I have had flat tyres on long journeys. Unlike some, I find it easy to get the front wheel off and on again, but I am neurotic...

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

When I got my XX1 cassette I found that the smallest cog was jamming on the frame. I put a washer on the drive-side end of the axle. Problem solved.

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

For those who find that mashing makes their trajectory look like a sine-wave: concentrate on pushing the pedal down when it is near the horizontal and your leg is near full extension. Force applied in this direction has no effect on steering.
