    Homebuild - Super V15

What everybody says about the chainwheel. I have 52 on my Grasshopper and that has small wheels. On my Silvio the chainwheel is smaller than the biggest cog. Are you one of these people who try to go over 100mph?

    Vosadrian's V20 Journey - Australia

On my Silvio I do a lot of commuting in London and wiggle through pedestrian barriers and go through shop carparks. Serious steering. No sideways knee problems ever. I think the legs bend sideways at the hips.

    Vosadrian's V20 Journey - Australia

What @cpml123 said. If you try it and do not buy it you will think you have avoided an expensive mistake. You will still be wondering if you will ever again be on a bike. You will be wondering how we can all be such enthusiastic evangelists for this thing. If you buy it you will be sure for...

    Road bike vs recumbent

At least GCN have a point to make. Better than their usual daft videos. But it is funny how, near the beginning, he says that the track is the recumbent's natural habitat. I would not win any races, even riding that white trike, but I feel totally at home commuting in London on either of my...

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

What a terrible tale of woe! People are so bloody helpful. But you feel awkward about telling them to bugger off. I never had a pressure gauge. I used to pump the tyres up as hard as I could with my old cheap pump. Then I got this amazing Lezyne pump. I pumped my Grasshopper 's tyres up...

    Amputee Cruzbike Riders?

Motorbike kickstart used to get me. Wait at the lights with your foot on the upward-pointing pedal. Push on the pedal. Then you need momentum until you can get your other foot into position. I would push, and the front wheel would completely lose grip and spin freely. Bike did not move at...

    Amputee Cruzbike Riders?

@chicorider and @vmi1056 both make great arguments in favour of IGH.

Helmet for Casual, Everyday Riding: Yes or No?

I do a lot of commuting, and I go through a lot of pedestrian barriers. In some cases a recumbent is more awkward to get through than a DF. A trike would be impossible. I would hate the loss of freedom. You need a helmet for that.

    Homebuilt Rev26/2

I have noticed that when someone posts about XX1, the lycra people say they need a double chainwheel. But @markciccio can manage with a single chainwheel and only 10 ratios.

    Amputee Cruzbike Riders?

Moving off from stationary in traffic. That did it for me. On the way home from work is a big roundabout. Getting out into a gap in the traffic was a nightmare. I used to approach slowly and then go for it. Then, if I lost my nerve and stopped I was stuck in a high gear. The Grasshopper...

Getting realistic about climbing with a V20

I assumed that if you are talking about standing up or pulling the bars and getting a psychological advantage you must be in a race in which everybody is in lycra. On a recumbent it is hard not to look like a twit while wearing shorts. I have had my Grasshopper for 14 years and lots of miles...

Getting realistic about climbing with a V20

On a Cruzbike, at least you can lean forward and pull the bars, which has no effect on a Grasshopper. On the negative side, you look psychologically a bit of a twit when your front wheel slips, which does not happen on a Grasshopper.

    Amputee Cruzbike Riders?

https://forum.cruzbike.com/threads/silvio-s-30-thailand.11047/page-5#post-124639 The above link gets you an image of my heel-clips. They might help an amputee.

    a true test of interest

Probably poisonous as well. I am not going to eat one. The person from whom that recluse stole that money is not going to try to get it back.

    Midsole cleat position

I have been on my midfoot for over ten years. I made heel-clips out of toe-clips for my Grasshopper, then did it for the Silvio too. There were no adapters then. Clipless people had to drill holes in their shoes.
