    Build Questions

Doug, There you go, making sense again.. FWIW, I tore down a 24" kids mountain frame. It's a rigid Trek, but steel and quite heavy. Regardless, while I'm wearing off the newness of the Silvio and getting my conversion frame painted or powder coated, I thought I might throw the kit on that...

    Build Questions

OK, I'm wasting time waiting on my frame to be delivered. I'm trying to make sure I have my ducks in a row so when the frame arrives, I can move forward with the build. I picked up from Brian that you need a tandem brake cable for the back brakes. I got that but what I'm not sure of is how...

    Radical Design seat bag

Jack, Those look pretty good. How are they for putting on and taking off; can you get them off pretty quickly? Have you ridden much with them loaded down? I was curious if they sway around any. Mark

    Ease of seat adjustment

Keep in mind that moving the seat forward will cause you to adjust the boom/bottom bracket, which will throw your whole positioning off and cause you to have to relearn to a certain extent. Moving the seat itself is easy as loosening the hose clamps and sliding it one way or the other. Where...

    My Ultegra Triple equipped Silvio

Hmmm... I suspect I'm longer legged than Brian, so I might have some of the same troubles with a lower bottom bracket. On my conversion, I had tailbone issues at first. That seemed more an issue of just getting used to the seating position. But... I think there may be a better cushion...

I believe the seat, both parts of the seat, are welded, integral parts of the frame. Mark

    Tail box

I see your points on tailboxes and make no mistake, I'm not arguing with you about the practicality of a nicely done, light tailbox. I'm just saying here in the US, my impression is the tailsock and bodysocks are more the trend than tailboxes. If I do anything,I will probably homebrew some...

    Tail box

I really shouldn't speak too loud about tail boxes, because I don't know for a fact. I get the impression, though, that here in the States, most people are leaning more toward tail socks. Body socks were popularized by Easy Racers and the tail sock emerged as a spin off of that. Basically...

    My Ultegra Triple equipped Silvio

Good report, Brian. FWIW, I agree 110% with what you say about a triple chainring setup. I love the 42 for most of the cruising I do. Kick it up to the big ring when really rolling, or on a fast downhill. I don't use the 30 much, but when I need it, I'm darned glad it's there. I'm not sold...
