    Cruzbike Sighting - Google Maps

Last September, while out riding, I noticed a *mapping vehicle* going by (big camera, roof mounted, little car). I stopped and noted my position using What3Words (https://what3words.com/brings.body.genuine)* and sent myself an email about 6 months into the future. I stumbled on that draft email...

    Seattle Area Group Ride

I see a couple old meetup posts in here - but this is regular enough that I'll just start this one thread and update it each time we want to get together. Starting this one then for Summer 2021 - I put together this LettuceMeet.com page https://lettucemeet.com/l/eDnpv Use that page to select...

Seattle group ride Sunday Aug 10

Kinda late notice but if anyone is interested in getting together for a group ride on Sunday, August 10th in the morning (time is sorta flexible to meet between say 8:30 and 10:00?...) we already have a small triplet including me and @rx7mark. We should probably meet at the same restaurant as...

    SeaBum 2018

@rx7mark and a few others reminded me of the great time we had last year meeting seattle area riders and seeing the new T50’s. A little late in the season but we are doing it again. This time we have two possible dates avail - I’ve made a doodle poll to help decide the best date option...

I made an event on Facebook today - my first ever. Invited folks in a local Bent group I'm a member of. But...the fact of the matter is most T50 owners are here - so I'll paste my facebook event here too. Send me a note if you plan on coming and I'll make sure to get you the details as they...

    Exceptional Ride Leader

So there I am thumbing through the Cascade Courier, the monthly publication sent to members of the largest bicycle advocacy group in the USA. With pictures of STP's past and other rides I usually look for a recumbent. I'm on page 5 when I uncharacteristically say out loud "Ya know, would it...

    Positive thoughts for Abbott

@Abbott Smith has had a rough birthday today. If you are friends with him on FB you'll have seen that at lunch time he blacked out for the 1st time in 7 yrs (T1Diabetic) and hit his head. That made him mad it seemed. Then about 5 hours later he shows himself in a hospital gown, being admitted...

    UMCA Across Washington N to S - 2015

This Saturday, May 16th, I'll be making an attempt (setting the mark actually) for the UMCA record for recumbents in the North>South direction across the State of Washington. https://www.ultracycling.com/sections/records/stats/state/#wa The course I've plotted (and expect to take) is here...

Do It Yourself (DIY) cover for Non-Drive wheel

Getting a cover for a non-drive wheel can be tricky. It's usually the front wheel for old fashioned bikes (OFB) and perhaps for liability reasons (or because most folks don't want to hurt themselves in the wind) there isn't much of a market. Ratz and Larry pointed out a couple of options here...

    Bike Parking at the office

On a Strava post Rick commented on the FAT bike I have. I actually own 1/10th ($20...yes twenty) of it and it's parked here at work. That made me think about our indoor bike parking - which I arranged with Management about 8 yrs ago - there was NO WAY I was locking my brand new Silvio up on the...

    Dual Purpose Lights

I've just thought about how these lights could be useful for anyone (not just commuters like myself). http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=LED+road+flares First - these are great rear/side lights * rear view * Side view * multiple modes of...

    Cruzbike RAAM team

So, I certainly wanted a title to get your attention - but I have to caveat this as unofficial. Mostly just me riffing on something Bob (Ratz) said in another thread (?http://cruzbike.com/and-so-it-begins...). That, combined with just how much freakin' awesome it is riding this Vendetta...

Silvio 1.0? Seth, I have a 1.0 Silvio and a couple weekends ago I tested a 2.0 (very short ride) The difference in geometry is pretty major. Despite the recent advances in frame style, weight, stiffness, etc I am still very happy with the 1.0. If you have the opportunity to try a 1.0 -...

I just changed my username on this forum. Strange that I have issues with being referred to as blief.z - it feels like someone referring to me by my phone number or something. Anyway, same rider, different name.

    SRAM Rival Rear Shifter breakage

Had another bad shifter experience on my Rival rear shifter. This is the 2nd time on a climbing route that I have broken the mechanism inside. This time I recognized what was happening before-hand and took it to my LBS. They contacted SRAM and the company is replacing them free of...

    Parking Brake

I use a cross-section of 2x1 3/8 inner-tube as a parking brake on my Silvio but it can be a little difficult to grab, especially with gloves. I make do. You could also use things like LiveStrong bracelets or you could order one of these. http://bikebrake.com/ Looks like it has some nice features.
