Orthogon rising

I pretty much decided to abandon the project and when I went into the garage the next morning I changed my mind again so I'm moving forward. Damn the torpedoes!

yay!
Hope you can find some

yay!

Hope you can find some good prices for the composite materials. If you decide that the twin towers are causing too much crosswind lift you could perhaps fair over the valley with your ever-useful storm window plastic film so that you can still see out front.

Mike (carolina) over on BentRider is building his own velomobile from scratch using molds intended for a BD5 kit aircraft to derive his velo body from. He recommends these guys and suggests people talk to Jake about their needs.

Sounds like they can offer better pricing than some and are willing to help fulfill odd size/amount requirements at cheaper cost.

PS - It gets hot inside these kinds of things from both outdoor heat and the heat generated from your body. Consider an air intake at the center tip of the nose. This is a stagnation point in terms of air boundary layer (drag) issues so putting an air intake (ventilation) here should not adversely affect your aerodynamics.

Sealing the plug

Over the next few days I'll paint the plug with a primer/sealer. Not much to show except it's white and shows off the imperfections. This is a low budget operation so I'm considering what materials to make the fairing with. It's not going to be carbon fibre.
