New Q45 coming....

Anyone got any idea what will be new? I would love to see the Q45 be able to take 700c wheels. I know this would stray into S40 territory, but to have a rear suspension would be a major bonus on UK roads.

@19Sprocket agree. particularly when it comes to road use, i think the market is leaving the 559. the 584 continues to grow, and the 622 seems to have no equal

You may be right about leaving the 559 behind, but I fear that will make it even harder for shorter people to enjoy recumbents. Does not seem to be a good trend....

Good point. Wish thee was an entry level as in 9 year old size though I understand the reasons why financially it doesn’t make sense.

Anorexic.
Terry tellus is only one I can find in 28. Still quite a few in 23

650c is basically a dead wheel and tire size and has been for many years. For used recumbents that only can take 650c - I would pass they are not worth buying and should all be destined for the recycler.
700c in anything over 32c is ridiculous (IMHO) unless you are talking about 29'er MTB bikes.
26" wheels are rapidly going to be appearing only on bikes sold at Target, etc.
650b is up and coming and the best alternative to wanting a "big" tire but still have the roll of a 700c.

ditto robert totally. so all new CB be able to run 622-32 (i got 622-30 g one speeds on my blue v20) or 650 b on q45/t50 (yes they do) and s40 (not sure)

of course as a guy who actually likes "vintage bents" and bents of historical significance, and one who still rides them, i must continue to find 650c.

sadly i am also a bit of a tire snob

So @Robert Holler what about 700x40 on a gravel bike ?

I’ve got 650b with 47 mm tires at about 35 psi on my Q45. Definitely expands the terrain possibilities vs. the stock wheels and tires but the steepness of the grade I can get up on a loose dirt path is still quite limited by wheel slip. Just a bit less limited than with stock wheels. Planning to try even lower pressure when I get them set up as tubeless.

All good for an actual gravel bike, but on a recumbent I think that's too much wheel.
Ah, that makes more sense. I missed the context and read it as applying universally. So, based on the limitations that our Cruzbikes have: fairly static weight distribution and front wheel drive resulting in unweighting of drive wheel and wheel slip and maneuverability on loose surfaces; and the advantage: reclined position spreading the weight over back and bum so huge tire size suspension is unnecessary... results in marginal gains for most riders.

@xtalbike Some of us like exploring or being the definition of marginal gains, pushing the envelope.
