The headrest was originally intended for an Optima trike. I used a tube bender to form the 5mm stainless steel rods and replaced the tailbox's carbon fiber mounting plate with an aluminum plate of the exact dimensions. I purchased the aluminum plate on eBay for just a few dollars. The headrest is adjustable in height. The rods have some minor flex, which along with the padding make it quite comfortable. Its original headrest configuration had three mounting points, but I have found that two suffice. I originally attempted to design it with all three mounting points, but the design became overly complex.
