And what bout disk brakes? There is not any braking surface on dick specific rims. And running the o ring off the brake surface is not to spec.

It may be better when mounted on rear but I don't like that I hear my dynamo. I have some cheap Shimano on my T50. I cannot feel that it is slowing me. I can see it on GPS but cannot feel it. But on Vendetta I hear the dynamo and thus I feel that it is slowing me. And this is realy bad feeling on such a fast bike.
I was in conversation about slippage with manufacturer and It is known issue for them.
I was testing it with pretty heavy load on dry rim. Load much heavier than 1 LED front light. I wanted to suck as much as possible. It is slipping even with light on wet rim.
I changed my mind how I would like to use the dynamo. My loads will be much lighter. So I may rethink the position in future.
No I didn't. I didn't wanted to have cable between main frame and bike front-end. I have normal version. I wanted to have high enough voltage from as low speed as possible.
Another concern with the dynamo what I have is that it has usable voltave for my electronics from about 15 km/h. Right now I have provisional setup with 2 LEDs front light connected via diode bridge directly to dynamo (with thermistor) and when I ride uphill I am neerly blind because dynamo cannot deliver enough power at such high voltage needed for 2 LEDs.
One of reasons why I bought the dynamo was that it has completely different voltage/current characteristics than classic hub dynamo I have found that this characteristic is not suitable for my purposes without buffer battery between dynamo and light.
If there are NO PHOTOS, then it did NOT happen! My review.
I fitted the dynamo to the rear running wiring through frame. I store pedalpal sic in frame bag.
The clearance for dynamo was tight. I use ultegra caliper not in the aero position. Couple mm clearance using large o ring. So not for dirt roads.
I can’t comment on how it will fair in heavy rain but have ridden in showers and wet roads with no issues a few times.
Positives
Small lightweight unobtrusive easy to operate and nil impact on daytime riding if you so choose .
I have zero slippage and think snilards installation not to specification. Snilard move your dynamo to rear.
Powers my light iq x and cache battery . Have not checked charging cache battery at same time.
Overall cheaper and lighter than son hub.
Negatives.
The dynamo emits a noise like a hairdryer on low low albeit quieter. I initially had (like snilard) the feeling of being slowed down ( I am not). Impact is less than 1.5 watts when on. And zero when off. Not counting the 75 grams of weight.
Now the noise is almost to me soothing and I am largely unawares. But for some this noise might be an issue. At 25 to 30 it is barely noticeable thereafter wind noise largely drowns it out.
You need to choose the dynamo model correctly. The sport model is for faster riders and full lighting is available from 12 klm/ hr.
The variable resistor ( a globe ) needs to be positioned so as not to distract.
Recommended for audax fast weight weeny riders. And commuting.
Light
The iq x light is great but like any shaped beam is foreshortened when turning very tight corners. There is enough light for me to ride fast. The bracket on the light is only fair. But it can allow under or over installing. There is a noticeable improvement over ixon premium in terms of available light but the close light phase is largely wasted On vendetta rider but would help motorists etc see cyclist.

Have you tested spraying water directly to rim?I can’t comment on how it will fair in heavy rain but have ridden in showers and wet roads with no issues a few times.
I will test it but give me some time. I have to drill my mount and make custom bracket to be able to fit it to rear stay.I have zero slippage and think snilards installation not to specification. Snilard move your dynamo to rear.

Could the 2nd globe (variable resistor) actually be in a second narrow beam headlight to create the extra light when going fast?
What is pedalpal sic?
Australian made electronic ac to dc plus cache battery no longer in business.
Have you tested spraying water directly to rim?
No but I don’t think contact is the issue for me. I don’t want to test the unit for overall ability to cope with inundation. I think your slippage issue is related to position on your rim so any lateral movement allows o ring to be off surface. I have taken corners fast and weigh more than yourself. 32 spoke wheels no issue.
I will test it but give me some time. I have to drill my mount and make custom bracket to be able to fit it to rear stay.
@jond Can You, please, share photos of your cable routing?

Or you can mount dynamo on other side of frame to put it on other side of stay.Dynamo position close to brake pad but clears with 2-3 mm. I guess aero position could be used.

Not yet. i would like but I don't have time. And it does not slip in my current configuration where it drives only 2 LED light without any smart electronics. I was sliping with my smart electronics what was designed to suck as much power as possible while maintaining reasonable dynamo efficiency. Now have you moved that dynamo yet ? And with what result.

I don't like that in my current setup it grinds elox from my rim. So there is thin silver line under braking surface on my rim.
