Just got done and that was tough. I wanted to quit after 15-20 mins but I hung tough. We would surge to 8wkg going into the volcano on the finish line side every lap and it was hard to know if you had to go with the 3 riders breaking away or if you could sit in the following group of 10-15. You needed to go hard to stay with ether group but to stay with the top 3-4 just in case they managed to break away forced you to burn that one extra match. I have terrible 15 second power compared to these guys so I figured out if I started at the very back and then surged for a longer 30 seconds, I could ride through the group and reach the front with the riders leading the attack with the same speed. I was hard to tell with a group of close to 40 but we were losing riders after every surge and by the time we hit the last last I'm sure we were less than 15 deep. There were a few fake surges on the last lap to get the leeches in the group to burn their last match too early but I wasn't biting. I may be a leech in the A group right now but I'm a smart leech and I wont be at the rear forever. With less than a mile to go we rounded the volcano and the entrance and final climb to the finish was now in sight. I surged hard and just as early as previous laps but the leaders were going all out. I dropped my drafting powerup and worked my way to about 6th but I could only manage about 8wkg and that wasn't enough to continue forward. I started losing tough with the rider in front of me but the rider behind me was in even worse shape so rolled across the line by myself. A another great KISS race in the books and thanks everyone who took part.

so sick thanks, I'm so posting that for my CA friends to see what I'm doing instead putting them in the pain locker

so how'd you record it and is it only up to 480p or is it still rendering?

I record it's HD but it was 2.2 gig so I prepocessed it to mp4 with compress to get it to 500 mb. Youtube is still doing the high level rendering. It's not publically listed so you will need this link to share http: slash slash youtu.be/kwxD_HYeQu0

Funny part was I couldn't watch the as watch; I had to "ride" and then "ride with Jason" and tape really really fast as you guys blew past my stationary guy.... Next time I'll remember to record the audio.

best way is to enter the race and click me right after the start but you'd have to have known I was enter the race ahead of time. So to clarify, choose to ride with me and it dumped you into our pack? I wasn't sure if racers in an event showed up on the riders list during startup

Correct If you are racing I can ride with you; but I'm not part of the race and you can't draft me. So showing up late that was the only way to find you on the course; once I tapped on your name in the right hand list it stayed with you the whole race.

racers can draft anyone on course that is why it is said to be frowned upon. Maybe the C & D racers can find people to draft outside of their ace but I don't see many free riders pulling over 5wkg I can jump behind. The one thing is I can see you on my riders list so I'll have no idea of when I pass you. I did see the ride on you gave me though. thanks

Awesome race Jason, and thanks Ratz for capturing the action! I'm definitely interested in a Cruzbike Zwift group ride if we can get enough people. Just need to plan my schedule for when people are around. I usually ride around noonish EST but if I plan ahead I can sometimes move work around. Tho today's weather is looking nice so might need to ride outside

KISS Americas Race at 5:15pm PST that 75 mins from now. Maybe @trplay will live stream the event like that Nathan Guerra guy does. The race will be 3 laps of the London loop so that's 3 attacks up and over box hill or as I like to call them hang on for dear life and don't get dropped zones.

I'd probably have given up 2/3 of the way up the second climb if Hardy wasn't there watching my every heart beat. I even press the talk button as I was hanging on for dear like just so he could hear I was actually breathing. Thanks for staring overt shoulder, it made the difference today.

Yeah I saw this unfold while headed off to parent teacher conferences. Sounds like I missed a good one.

All the training plans I do are on an arbitrary 7 day cycle following standard practices of keeping things aligned to people's work weeks, but it remains arbitrary. On the default calendar Wednesday and Saturday can be swapped out for Zwift races. So for Larry that's Tue, Friday; for me that's Wed, Saturday. But my weight class is going to be the 3 watt/kg, I cannot play with the 4+ watt/kg boys just yet.

I owe several people their spring plans and will be building the same Wednesday Saturday swaps into the high volume stuff. It's not that hard there are only 2 mandatory training rides a week that provide 70% of the gains, 1 rest day and 1 recovery ride. That's 4 total; leaving 3 days a week pick no more than 2 for Zwifting as long as it's a "Race" level effort; and of course the recovery ride can be a social go slow look at the pretty lava type thing. Oh and no all weekend marathons; we aren't trying to simulate Sebring.

I can make it possible in the plans; interest by the riders remains their provocative. But stay tuned there might be more zwift news in the coming months.

If I'm not being an abasitor I don't mind pissing people off but I do take my position within the tribe serious and think I've handled myself well so far. I hasn't been easy to be as modest as I have been with the haters

I'm going to try and focus on the Tuesday and Thursday KISS races and then mountain goat or KISS 100K on sundays. any days between will be rest or easy group ride days. I'm going to get back outside very soon so I don't know what that'll do to my time on zwift. I really should get outside and start doing those after work centuries like last year if I want to try and win that d
devil mountain century in april

I couldn't watch the race but checked in on Mobile Link and gave you a 'Ride On' for some motivation. Congrats on podium! Keep me posted on group rides
