    Newbie build question

Welcome... As you've mentioned, make sure the QR is tight on the adapter bracket. You should verify the QR is biting the bracket, and not just pulling up hard on the end of the axle. You may need to file 1mm or so off each axle end to insure this. Also, Charles and Eric will begin hounding...

Unsuspended conversion vs. V2/K vs. Sofrider?

If you like to tinker... ... I'd build a conversion. I have a garage full of them in various states of completion. But for me, a conversion is never really "finished", because I like to tinker. If you don't enjoy mechanical activities, I'd buy a completed bike or at least a V2K. But...

Widening the stem clamp by about 3 to 4mm

What bike are you converting? If it uses a 1 1/4 inch steerer (Cannondale, for example), there are better ways to adapt it. I don't think you can expand the steering column that much at the base and not have it crack...

    Silvio 2.0 disc hubs

Nice looking wheels... ... and they appear to offer a 130mm - spaced disc hub on a deep-rim aero wheel. Good find. Let us know how they work for you. (Pictures?)

Silvio 2.0 with Crud RoadRacer Fenders

Nice job, Tuloose... ... Love to see folks solve problems like this. The hardware store will likely have "P-Clamps" that would make this easier. http://forums.roadbikereview.com/commuting-touring-ride-reports/how-do-i-mount-rear-rack-146866.html (scroll down a bit...) SKS...

Dual Cruzbike Conversion on a Tandem?

Given a lot of thought to this... Charles, The principal issue I've found with converting a standard tandem is the distance between the rear wheel and the front bottom bracket is generally pretty short - 22 inches or so in the frames I've measured. This can be alleviated somewhat by...
