Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

After downloading Blender and figuring it out for a bit, I put together a composite video of both foward-looking and looking-at-mechanism views. I also got a quick video of me riding it, and then me demonstrating how the mechanism worked with some extreme tilts. Enjoy! Now time to focus on...

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

So, the cam follower replacement arrived. I installed it, and the/a new cam. I mounted a couple of GoPros on the bike, and then made some videos. I haven't yet figured out how to do picture-in-picture with any of the newly downloaded video editing software, but decided to go ahead and upload...

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

Still waiting for the new cam follower.

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

The first prototype is bolted back onto the bike. I hope to have a video in the next day or two. Basically any riding on it is gated on receiving a new cam follower from McMaster Carr. They're generally amazingly fast at shipping, so there is hope this isn't overly optimistic! The backup cam...

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

Hey Jim-- I went on tour (2 months of riding) about 16 hours after the delivery of the prototype, and haven't bolted it back onto the bike since then. Perhaps I'll have some time this weekend, but any video would be short, since it looks to be stressing the frame a bit much. A couple of laps...

Rack solution for the Silvio 2.1

I suspect any/all of them would work (at worst you cut some semi-rigid plastic and put that in the reinforcement pocket in lieu of or in addition to the shape-reinforcing foam), but I've only tried the 25L personally. To reiterate, however, I've only tried the 25L, and only know for sure about...

    Riding in the dark (lights)

How long are you wanting to ride and in what conditions? I've just been using a Urban 800 for the front, which works well enough for commuting/riding on the road in the dark. It is self-contained, and USB charged. It is certainly less bright than other lights I've put onto the bike (LiMo Seca...

    Silvio wheels

I enjoy my Velocity Aileron wheels. Then again I've not really compared them to anything else. For me they win because they make a wide (28) tire fit nicely without incurring too large an aero penalty. They'd not be the only rims/wheels to do this, however.

    FWD recumbent trikes?

There is also my prototype. Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame? I hope to get a second revision made in the next few months.

    Steering damper/stabilizer

I do the same when putting it on the repair stand. I'm not worried about the rear wheel hanging down low then, though, and, since I'm moving so much less, not as worried about the body of the bike smacking into me. It is possibly that I'm simply shorter, which makes these things more annoying...

    Steering damper/stabilizer

I pick it up by the handlebars and by the seat-- the CoM is rear of my handlebars by a couple of inches, so picking it up by the handlebars doesn't work well since the bike would like to swing down and have the rear wheel stay in contact. When I have the Banana bags on there (and stuff on 'em)...

    Steering damper/stabilizer

I don't think that I'm an amateur handler anymore, but I'd still like a steering damper/steering lockout. Here is why: 1) I actually have to carry the bike up and down stairs. I've had multiple incidents of the front causing harm to me as it swung about 2) I can park the bike in more places...

    Silvio transport

Standard roof rack works fine. I use a bungee to ensure that nothing even attempts to flop about by passing it through the rear wheel and then arounfld the handlebars. This also makes getting it on or off the roof easier since the front wheel won't flop about. And by standard, I mean either the...

    Radical Design's Banana Racer panniers

I do love the Radical Design banana bags. They just work on so many different bikes. The new CB Scorpion bag works quite well for the CBs at the same time as the RD Banana bags :)

    Florida Riders

Well, I passed through that area a couple of months ago (as will anyone doing the East Coast Greenway or ACA Atlantic Coast trails), but I suspect that isn't helpful. :)

    How bikes stay upright

A real steering damper/boom restraint (as opposed to the one I bodged up for the start of my tour) would be an instant sell for this customer... Being able to pick up the bicycle without getting damaged or having the bike damaged (i.e. without the front flopping onto me or itself), or being...

Atlantic Coast Epic Tour ride report

I cooked a number of meals. I admit I also bought a few meals at restaurants for the group, when it made sense to do so. One of the more popular meals included tunafish salad, corn on the cob, lima beans, salad, broccoli, chips & salsa, and other appetizers.
