Recumbent Monorail - City people mover?

Those cars are pretty boxy. I can only imagine how fast they would be if you would streamline them a little. Also, what if you could link multiples!??! I bet that would be stupid fast! Seriously, if people weren't so lazy, this could be a legit form of transportation through some...

    Good Cruzing

As they say, "Whatever floats your boat!" :D I know I'm in the minority on the CO2 issue. I always laugh, though, because a lot of people who carry CO2 also carry a pump to seat the bead and for "just in case". So, they still carry a pump, their CO2 gizmo and a couple cartridges, then will...

    Good Cruzing

Marc, What was the issue with your Road Morph? Are you sure you had it latched on right? I’ve never had issues with any of mine. What do you mean when you say the “high pressure side wouldn’t work”? I gave up on CO2 years ago. I don’t like dumping the steel cartridges and even if you buy...

    Good Cruzing

Usually not until after the smoothie and everythng settles down. Lately, though, I have not been indulging in beer, at all. I know, I know, that seems to good to be true. Mark

    Good Cruzing

I make a smoothie consisting of soy milk (or regular milk), protien powder, powdered Gatorade, frozen fruit, banana (if I have one) dab of peanut butter, crushed ice and blend the crap out of it. The protien and electrolytes are the key. Everything else is just for flavor. Mark

    Good Cruzing

For various reasons, I’ve been off on my mileage to date this year. The fact is, I’ve been off the bike for rides of any distance for nearly three weeks. Local errands and tooling around the neighborhood has been the majority of my cycling existence. This past Saturday was the first free day...

    Backbone Skin Chafing/Irritation

My frame is the older variety without the seat back cut-out, so I cannot comment on your particular issue. I will say that I occasionally get chafed in my lower back, as in right above my butt crack (TMI, I know). This happens after time off the bike, or on longer rides than usual. It goes...

    Suspension or Not?

The only thing I can tell you for certain is there is a big difference between the suspension on the Silvio and the Sofrider. I think a composte bike rides much better than a steel or aluminum frame, so my initial feeling is that a rigid composite should be a pretty decent ride. Mark

    recumbent classifications

Makes sense to me. You can't pigeonhole any of the Cruzbikes with the current acceptable titles. The Silvio certainly isn't a high racer, even though it runs on big wheels. It's pretty much standard bicycle wheel base, so SWB doesn't fit at all. Mark

    Jeroen's Pleasure

Nice. What bar is that? It looks too shallow for a Gary. Nice to see Shimano finally figured out how to hide their shifter cables. Good looking bike! Mark

    Silvio vs Tica

I think you answered your own question. As you spend more time and fine tune your techinque, I believe you will see your averages go up. You're on the right track, you just need to be patient and give it time. In fact, I suggest you stop looking at your computer for awhile and just enjoy the...

    Tried a Sofrider

I got the opportunity last night to spend more time tweaking on the Sofrider. As I said in my initial review, this was a used bike when I got it and while it's cosmetically in great shape, it's been hauled around and ridden by different people here and there. It was in need of a little...

    700c fork suggestions wanted

I agree with Jack on the Sofrider frame. For the front fork, I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can run 700c wheels on a mtb fork, though you might have to do some adapting for brakes. Your other option is to find one of the old Rockshock 700c forks they made for a short while. I see...
