    I ordered a Silvio...Built it Up...and my First Ride...and 300 miles later!

Gearing Selection Hi, Rick. A few posts up, you mention choosing a 44 x 11 combination which you said would give you top speed even on the downhills. Maybe your riding style and ability to spin high cadences is far different than mine, but I find that I spin out on even moderate descents...

    The Sigma

Just my opinion... I think that if Cruzbike kept the Sigma or developed other rea-wheel drive offerings, it would take away from what defines Cruzbike as a company and as a product. When you think about MBB/FWD, you think Cruzbike. Focusing on what is somewhat a niche market and becoming the...

    Noteworthy blog

Quite Noteworthy Indeed! I like the recurring use of the word noteworthy. Without a doubt there are aspects of the Cruzbike that are exceeding expectations, just as Jim Parker points out. Especially noteworthy is Charlie Ollinger's race. The fact he came in second place behind a cyclist on...

How come there is no Quest frameset?

Also... Like Charles said, maybe there is not enough demand for a Quest frameset-only option. Not all of us like to build and experiment. :-)

How come there is no Quest frameset?

Assuming you've asked Cruzbike... ...and you're waiting for a reply, I can guess that there are several reasons: The Silvio was designed as a platform by which one could transfer parts from their traditional roadbike. This was the beauty of the design which is expressed in John Tolhurst's...

    Build up with V2/K frame

CB123 Is your commute 24 miles round trip or is that each way? I used to commute 27 miles round-trip and that was comfortable without feeling I was overdoing it. The Cruzbike will definitely alleviate the soreness issues. I think the disc brake tabs on your fork will create...

    Build up with V2/K frame

V2/K What part of NC are you in? I am sure you're aware that Cruzbike has its US office in NC also! Aside from that, I live in Columbia, SC and would be happy to answer your questions or even provide an introduction to MBB on a Silvio. I think the V2/K is a great way to start. I think...

    converting specialist m5

What was I thinking?? Charles, Excuse my temporary lapse in judgment. I do think the S-Works M5 would be fun to take out on the trails, but the fun might be short-lived once the aches and pains of riding upright kick in.

    my silvio journey

Be sure to post photos! I like seeing the individual touches that each owner puts into his or her Cruzbike. Please post some photos when you're ready and I also am looking forward to your first ride report :)

The look is hot and futuristliclly hot

Zefal Spy Mirrors These are ones that seem to be favoured by many a Cruzbike rider. http://www.zefal.com/en/mirrors/78-spy.html I use two of these and they are quite good.

Torque Indication on Cups Most external BBs that I have seen have the torque specs etched into the cups.

    Silvio 2.1 Arrived!

I see the damage Hi Mauler, It took me a while, but I can see the extent of the damage. If I am right, the angle of the bolt heads which attach the main frame to the carboyoke show just how askew the frame is. It must have taken quite a blow! Hopefully your auto or home insurance...

    Visor Recommdendations

Not to give out any secrets... ...but a certain owner of a recumbent bicycle manufacturer has made a prototype of his own that not only shields the eyes but quite possibly improves aerodynamics.

    BB face and chase?

Call me old-fashioned In the old days of steel frames, there was always the chance of thread or bottom bracket distortion from the brazing process, excess brass or flux could foul the threads and paint had to be cleared of the threads and removed from the bottom bracket shell faces as a facing...

    BB face and chase?

It's anodized The bottom bracket assembly on your Silvio is anodized. On other anodized frames I have seen, the threads have either been cut or chased after anodizing. At any rate, it seems that it is good enough to install your BB cups in the shell as-is and that chasing and facing may...

silvio 2- how slow can you go?

About wheel slip Hi Tim. Nice to meet a fellow Pittsburgher on here :) Allow me to add that wheel slip was an issue on long climbs on PA backroads that had loose gravel. In my opinion, hard efforts on short, steep sections are manageable once you get a feel of how to adjust your position and...
