    Silvio 2.0 Modified Seat

Looks good Hi, unc99. I like what you have done here. The idea of doing away with the headrest might address some concerns I have read about. Is the a teason the entire seat could not have been used? In my mind, it would probably require fabrication of brackets to affix it to the Silvio...

silvio 2- how slow can you go?

Great riding in SW Pennsylvania That area is my home (Pittsburgh area native) and in July I had the opprtunity to ride on some of my favorite roads. What a difference from the mostly-flat South Carolina where I currently reside. I am not sure how low you can go with a granny gear on the...

    Transporting a Vendetta

By Vehicle I can fit a Vendetta upright in my Kia Sedona minivan just by folding the rear seats into stowage. The profile of the Vendetta is much lower than the version 1 Silvio; the Silvio will fit in my van with a fair measure of creativity.

Mechanic didn't "get" cable run and rigged front derailleur routing

A Quick Fix! Your mechanic was close, but as you know, not close enough. You could easily remedy this yourself: Shift to the inner chainring Remove cable end (ferrule) from front derailleur cable Loosen cable anchor bolt at front derailleur Remove superfluous clamp and...

    It arrived

Singaporean Accent? Nah...too difficult. I have no idea what that would sound like. Thanks to Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, I have English down perfectly.

    It arrived

Happy/Merry Christmas to you too! Now I have to read your posts with an English accent. I didn't realise that is where you are located! Enjoy building your Silvio; I don't think the fat man is putting one beneath my tree :(

Where exactly does the boom clamp go?

$600?! Unethical, to say the least. AggieRay74: I could almost understand $100 for assembly of the Silvio because it is an involved assembly, but the shop was wrong in overcharging you. I don't care how many hours of labour it took to get the job done. Did the shop at least give you a...

    Silvio decal got updated

Mock-up of Silvio Sort of like this. Most components today are black, silver, grey or a combination of the three. I think with that in mind, the splash of red is a welcome accent.

    My Silvio arrived!

Headrest First, congratulations on your soon--to-be assembled Silvio. Secondly, I could see riding it without the headrest. Positioned properly to support the base of the skull, I found that transfer of road vibrations was minimal. There is some magic in that rear suspension! You will...

Water Bottle Mounts on Silvio 2

psychokiller I was thinking of David Byrne of the Talking Heads. Why not? Bob Weir has been known to be an avid cyclist too.

Water Bottle Mounts on Silvio 2

David Byrne?? You're telling me that David Byrne rides a Cruzbike? SWEET.

Water Bottle Mounts on Silvio 2

Camelback? Charles...I can not seem to effectively drink from these things. When I need a drink, no matter how hard I draw, I get nothing more tthan a sparse trickle. And then I am out of breath from sucking so hard! What's the secret?

On folding handlebars and adjustable stems

Stress Good point. Especially when first learning, many riders put more stress on the handlebar/stem/steering tube interface than they would on a non-MBB bike. That might be a consideration.

Urgent: Your "vote" needed now for NY Cruzbike dealer's grant application

You got my vote... ...but I am also considering a move to NYC, so I have my own selfish reasons for helping you succeed ;-)

    Technical help needed please!.

Picture? A picture would certainly help. My advice is to shift remove the wheel and shift to the highest gear (normally, you would do this first if your derailleur was not jammed). Then reinstall the wheel again, making sure that the derailleur hanger is properly fitted into the recess on the fork.

Is the Silvio 2.0 out of Beta Yet?

650B Tires Hi Charles, There are some high-quality options in 650B, but they are limited. I rode on a set of Fatty Rumpkins which suited their purpose. Most 650B tires are wide and have a tall profile as a result. I imagine these would be a tight fit on the Silvio, but I'm not an expert...

Is the Silvio 2.0 out of Beta Yet?

650B on a Silvio I tried 650B wheels on a tandem that was originally equipped with 26" wheels. In this case, the 650B was an upgrade, but tire choices were limited and the wheels were robust and quite heavy. My opinion is that such wheels on a Silvio diminish its purpose as a fast road...

Is the Silvio 2.0 out of Beta Yet?

Why Not See One in Person? Hi pRC. You certainly do not live far from Cruzbike's Lumberton-based headquarters. Why not reach out to Jim and Maria Parker? They would be able to answer your questions and would quite certainly arrange for you to see and try a Silvio in person.

    unclear on the chainstay extension

My take on it I always assumed that people of our stature did not need the extension, and for all intents and purposes, we don't. However, installing it does a couple things: It raises the crankset and in turn, raises the feet. The turbulent air caused by pedaling will always be a factor on...
