Water Bottle Mounts on Silvio 2

Second my body is a heck of a For what it's worth: Professional riders aren't allowed to have their water bottle on their handlebars because they were apparently trying to use them as fairings. It isn't obvious to me that putting the water there helps/hurts and to what magnitude...

    Rohloff Speedhub on Sofrider

As long as you could move the As long as you could move the Rohloff to another bike, I don't think it's an unreasonable investment on the Sofrider. If you end up riding for thousands of miles on the Sofrider you win. If you move it to another bike and ride it there, you win. (I am...

    Rigidity of donor bike

Hi Shahmatt, My low end is Hi Shahmatt, My low end is 17" on my Mantis (closer to 16" on my Sofrider). Remember you can't stand on a recumbent and because it's front wheel drive, if you try to go up steep hills in too high a gear, you're more likely to spin your front wheel. As far...

Is the Silvio 2.0 out of Beta Yet?

Cyclocross and touring Cyclocross and touring bikes both have clearance for much wider tires and you can find models that are no slouch. I disagree that you can't have a bike that can do roads and light trails well. If the Silvio had room for wider tires, it would do just fine...

Is the Silvio 2.0 out of Beta Yet?

Why I don't think 28 mm cuts it Experience with road bikes and 28 mm tires as well as my Sofrider and wider tires. As soon as the limestone becomes a little bit looser or on enough of an incline, having wider tires makes a big difference.

What kind of dubious surface Packed lime stone trails. Dirt roads. When riding out and about, you don't always get to pick your surface.

How 'bout a Nuvinci and a How 'bout a Nuvinci and a triple? Not as crazy as it sounds... (You just need (1) chain tensionner and (2) make sure the granny gear on the triple isn't too small for the Nuvinci, but that shouldn't be too hard). In any case, I hope I run into you guys with...

Is the Silvio 2.0 out of Beta Yet?

I think 28 is plenty big For asphalt, yes. For more dubious surfaces, I would love to see wider tires available. Once disc brakes become ubiquitous, you'll be able to stop worrying about having to fit road bike caliper brakes and you'll be able to embrace your inner wider-tire child. :D

Axiom Journey 2429 Rack for Silvio 2.0

Here's another view of the Here's another view of the second rack I posted way up there: So it mounts on the axle. You'd need p-clamps to mount the upper piece on the seat stays, but this might actually work out pretty well. Long-story-short: We got plenty of choices and I...

Axiom Journey 2429 Rack for Silvio 2.0

Hi Shahmatt, I have my seat Hi Shahmatt, I have my seat very close to the steering column, but have the seat angled quite low so my head is just about perfectly over the rear wheel (I have a lay back seat post). I'm significantly heavier than you (~95 Kg) and I find my (cheap) front...

Axiom Journey 2429 Rack for Silvio 2.0

Charles, I can see the top Charles, I can see the top clamps on those racks maybe attaching to the headrest posts, but I cannot imagine where the lower supports could attach. Even if the geometry allowed these to attach to the rear wheel or seat stays (doesn't look likely), that would bridge...
