74mm BCD inner ring on SilVio 2.0

Fabulous!  Thanks for the Fabulous! Thanks for the updates and the pictures. As far as the dirty bike, well, that's what happen when you ride them in the real world. :D And again: For me, having a low granny is what I need on a bike. I think this opens up the Silvio 2 as a viable...

Shimano Ultegra Triple 6703 (10 sp) on Silvio 2.0

Hi SS, I believe the 1.5 has Hi SS, I believe the 1.5 has the same bottom bracket interface as the 1, not the 2. That being said, somebody did manage to get a triple with a 74 BCD on a Silvio 2, which means you could get as low as 24 if you wanted to go that (probably officially...

    Silvio 2.0 disc hubs

For the record: At most, an For the record: At most, an object mass counts double. Rotating mass only matters when accelerating (not when climbing at a constant speed). A cassette is very close to the axis, so its mass when accelerating is much less than a factor of 2. All of these...

    Yuba Mundo cargo bike donor

I agree with Jim that there I agree with Jim that there are easier ways to tour than with a cargo bike. Here's a picture of how David Byrne setup his wife's Quest (he did similar things with his bike; more details in his blog). With the relatively easy ability to store things both on a rear...

    Rigidity of donor bike

I'm a little worried about I'm a little worried about where the seat pan will go and what the angle will be, but I'm sure that could be worked out. I think (but could be wrong) that Chris is located in Singapore. It's worth PMing him to see what advice about obtaining frames, etc. he has...

    Yuba Mundo cargo bike donor

What Jim said. Looking at a What Jim said. Looking at a picture of the bike, the rider is going to need to be, well, not short. One possible option might be to use a 20" fork and front wheel. Regardless, as Jim said, if you build it, we wanna see it. :D

    Silvio 2.0 on Trunk Rack

I've done worse with my I've done worse with my Sofrider. You may want to consider taking the seat off if it isn't bolted on. I'd also try tying the Silvio so it isn't free to rotate around the boom.

    Using same cassette

Why do you think Why do you think 700c wheels are faster than 26" wheels? For the same tire at the same pressure, the difference in rolling resistance is going to be minimal and the air resistance (assuming same type of wheel) will be worse with bigger wheels. Again, if he just puts...

    Using same cassette

Not to be one to disagree Not to be one to disagree with Doug (even second hand. :) ), but almost all of the gains have nothing to do with the bigger wheel size, but rather just upgraded pieces (tires and hubs mostly). 700 c wheels do look better, but if you don't buy higher end pieces...

    Using same cassette

I don't think 700c will buy I don't think 700c will buy you that much more speed. The biggest difference between 26" and 700c is that you can find a larger selection of tires for the 700c. If you replace the standard tires with nicer ones, that can help a bunch. Lowering the seat angle to...

    Di2 on Silvio 2

for what it's worth: I've Even well-tuned SRAM X.5/7/9/00 systems shift buttery smooth. The only real advantage I see for the electric systems is that you don't need to tune them (as much). (Likewise, I can't afford the Di2 shifters either :D )
