    Cracked Carbon Wheel

It’s just that overall strength of the wheel is related to spoke count. Most carbon wheels are built below 32 spoke count. My enves are 24. I know the results of breaking a spoke on a 24 enve and a 16 scandium and 32 alloy. The 32 was ride on the 24 was slow down the 16 was limp home and pray...

Elliptical chain rings don't work ...

Clearly the move to socal has upset your equilibrium rojo. Change is inevitable . Or your bent legs have grown to make you the recumbent dork you were meant to be. One day my first wife woke up and decided to up and kick me out. Putting your round rings back on the df will be a helluva of a...

SRAM Rival YAW front mech woes continue!

Eureka great news. The importance of checking your bike over regularly with tools cannot be understated. It literally is a matter of safety. Left unchecked even the best assembled bike can lose bits. So kick those tyres and become your own bike shop B, its great fun if you have the time and...

    extremely steep hill climb

Riding hands free is something I don’t cant won’t do. I don’t think that milestone should be seen as such lol largely because I can’t do it. Oh no it has become a millstone around my neck. Like removing replacing bidons behind my head. Nyada. In all seriousness having no hands riding is a good...

Our Three T50 Builds, and Maybe a Sofrider Retro-fit

Your natural untrained cadence is related to your walking pace. Generally a higher cadence is seemingly recommended 80 and above for keeping knees happier. When I’m tiring mine drops to 70- 80. And apart from the trainer never gets above 85 on 170 mm cranks. I would be surprised if you were...

Our Three T50 Builds, and Maybe a Sofrider Retro-fit

I’ve got a greenspeed gto and two of my mates have the magnums. One has fitted a gigantic 60t ring . But.......it is in my opinion a waste of time money on these trikes. Basically you can’t use it and won’t use it. Fact is these particular trikes are happy on the flats at around 22 klm/hr and...

Ol'Yellow get a New Facelift after 11.6K Miles

Rick I am not now worried about fitting disc brakes to any of my road bikes saving me a fortune in new wheels. Most importantly I am pleased to see one original super nasty graphic left on the front of your V2. For this sword graphic is perfect for the vendetta.

    Cracked Carbon Wheel

Ouch that’s very disappointing and expensive but you were not hurt. I think personally a strong training wheel set with 32 spoked aluminium are worth their weight in carbon. I have an enve carbon wheel set and they are strong too but ..........the roads I ride are fraught with irregular...

    Leather water bag

Yes I tried storing bladders with anhydrous packs and full of dishwashing diluted water. Nothing seemed to work. The cleaning kits were for me a fail. So I renew bladders every three years or less. Probably why I love getting free bidons.

    extremely steep hill climb

Drop me a donut. 99.9% can’t agree with that ........ Power meters are for mine the most useful meaningful metric of all inside or outside. I don’t display outside anything else except power and heart rate. In conjunction with your experience and known capacities these two metrics alone can...

SRAM Rival YAW front mech woes continue!

I’ve got Sram yaw and shimano both work as well with maybe Sram smoother. Never drop chains 53 and 52 big rings. You must use inline tensioner. The cable needs to be taught not loose so the slightest brifter movement results in mech movement. Best wishes.

    Leather water bag

I love water bladders but over time no matter seemingly how clean you are the bladder and hose grow nasties. Even just using water and no additional supplements Be mindful of that potential to upset your stomach with an algae blooming hoedown.
