My first crash - on a Cruzbike

Ouch Sorry to hear about your accident, but at least you're able to tell the tale. I have feared a front flat like that, but I have been lucky. However, a couple weeks ago, I was on a long straight stretch of road when my rear tire was punctured. As I was going straight and the roads were...

    Silvio 2.0 disc hubs

I am loving this bike with I am loving this bike with disc brakes. It's exactly what I would spec if I was building one. I'd be tempted to take it to the beach and finish it, but my family might have something to say about that.

    back problem

I can't speak for anyone with I can't speak for anyone with back problems, but I can say that riding with the increased seat angle is not necessarily harder, just different. Your body will require time to adapt and you will have to adopt the nuances of riding reclined, but once you have become...

    Silvio 2.0 Build Questions

did you chase and face the BB? I might be old-fashioned, but I believe the practice of chasing the threads and facing the BB should be part of any new bicycle build. It is especially important that the opposing BB shells are perfectly parallel.

suspension fork The latest iteration of the Sofrider does away with its front suspension and if you look at some of Doug's creations, you can see that a rigid fork can work well.

Silvio 2.0 and 27 Degree Seat Angle

my thoughts I am no expert, but I too have been giving considerable thought to providing adjustability for the Silvio seat angle. I ride a v1.0, so if anything, I would like a more reclined position. My thought is that the Silvio represents the equivalent of a high performance DF; ride a...

    Silvio 2.0 Build Questions

about the carbon stays... Hi Ivan. I do not believe there is any structural issue with the carbon stay you shown us. I have a series 1.0 Silvio and have the same "irregularities" in the carbon weave. Also, I have a set of carbon cranks which have similar irregularities. To me, these is...

    High speed steering help...

One more bit of reassurance Hi Seth. The first Monday after I received my Silvio - which I got on a Saturday, I was bound and determined to ride to work. My 13.5 mile commute was a white-knuckle experience as I was tensing-up as each car would pass me. By the next day, I felt more relaxed and...

    Vendetta vs Silvio

it's a tough decision Hi Lee. I don't feel too badly for you and your dilemma; frankly, I would love to be faced with your decision. The Musashi is a very fast bike, but like your Bacchetta, neither are great climbers....not bad, just not great. You are looking at the right bikes if you want a...

those things don't do hills well

Thanks, Ivan I popped a spoke today on my commute (my second in two weeks!) so unless my shop fixes it tomorrow, I won't be able to chase down the A group yet. I'm eagerly waiting your 2.0 frame too. Even since John T. put up the frame photos in his blog, I've been looking forward to...

    How much to buy?

Couldn't one say that the Couldn't one say that the Silvio 1.5 is like the P38 in some ways, but without the short-comings? ;-) Sorry, Mick. This is a Cruzbike board after all and most of us don't consider FWD an "issue". I won't knock the P38, because it is a good bike with a long-proven...
