    Ride to End Brain Cancer.

Great Way to Contribute! I will not likely participate in any organized rides this year, but I had the idea of looking for "sponsors" who would pledge to support 3000 Miles based on my distance goals. I actually thought about putting up a "Sponsor My Commute" flyer at the office soliciting...

    bullhorns

Hey Eric...Stopping Power You're right on money about the levers not being 100% effective as primary levers. The trend in use of these kinds of levers in TT and Tri events is that they are used to scrub off speed rather than be capable of bringing a bike to a quick, complete stop. Yes, they...

    Vandetta Newbie Intro

30 yrs worth of accumulated bike parts? Oh, I'd love to see your garage! In reading your brief "bio", I can't help but think that your track experience has earned you a smooth spin; something that is essential, in my opinion, for riding a MBB bike such as the Vendetta. Any chance you...

whats coming up in the new Vendetta

John Tolhurst a celebrity? "?I want the first newly redesigned Silvio in lemon yellow with your signature!! Sign and then clear coat over it!!!" You gotta admire the enthusiasm :-) I think that the signature would be a nice touch. Many of the great master frame builders "sign" their...

    Upgrading Program for New Models?

The recumbent bicycle segment The recumbent bicycle segment is a very small part of bicycle production and a MBB design, in this case Cruzbike, represents an even smaller market share. I wouldn't say that Cruzbike is in a unique position of creating new versions and models; the changes we are...

Hill Challenge...How would you respond ?

How would I respond to his Facebook post? I'd click the "Like" button. Then I would go out an conquer some serious climbs.

    Biked to Work Entire Week

No Wind Monday Yesterday was the first time in a while that I didn't face headwinds and crosswinds during my commute. Talk about feeling fast! I knocked about 10 minutes off of my morning commute and about 5 on the way home. Something tells me I may have enjoyed a tailwind on the way to the office.

    Biked to Work Entire Week

I set aside my $35 Magna Fix-D after cobbling together a 650c Cannondale mostly from parts I had lying around. I kept the gear inches close to the same, but the bike probably weighs half of my Target-bought boat anchor. Now that I am riding something close to a proper road bike, my commute...

    Magnic Lights and Cruzbikes

Good Concept As I use my bike for commuting, visibility is key and I am intrigued by advances in lighting like this. However, they are a bit expensive for my budget for something I haven't seen for myself. If I could try them out first, I might be convinced to loosen the purse strings.

Possible Conversion Candidate - Columbia, SC

My "Share the Road" Picture Charles, Thank you. I created that picture using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. It's sort of a quick-and-dirty version, but I plan to make a more accurate high-resolution one soon. I'll let you know.

    buying a silvio

Silvio Gearing If I were to build a Silvio, I would go with a SRAM WiFli set-up. You will have all the range of a triple, but with the lighter weight and crisper shifting of a double. As for tubulars, I absolutely LOVE the ride quality, but I am not a fan of the whole stretching and gluing...

Practicing Silvio Climbing Technique on a DF Bike

I have recently returned to riding my bike after taking much of 2012 off due to illness. I am riding a $35 clearance Magna singlespeed as my commuter, and while it is heavy, it is great to be back on the road and getting noticibly stronger and faster. With that in mind and the plans of...

    Matte Black or White?

I vote for a white fork Last year, I met a nearby Cruzbike owner who owned a white silvio. As I recall, his fork was white and the original boom was white, but it was replaced with a black one. The white frame was nicely offset by the black front end.

    Ventisit

Ventist I have tried the Ventisit pad on an Optima Baron (not mine) and it is very comfortable, provides noticable ventilation and offers a bit of a suspended feel. The Ventisit works well on a one-piece recumbent seat because of the relaxed curvature and it is easily held in place with some...

Be Proud of It! That is a very clean conversion. I am sure it took a fair amount of work to make such an elegant solution. Love it!
