    New shoes for new endeavors

Well, the fitter one gets, the more distance travelled in the less time. I noticed when stacking up some 50 mile fast rides lately that the balls of the feet were ending up sore. After reviewing and observing some well known long distance riders it became apparent to go for a nice stiff carbon...

Latex Larry and the case of blown out tire

This season I decided to go tubeless with my carbon rims. I think they will be more forgiving if I had a blow out. I am pleased that I didn't get carbon bullhorns. The aero alluminium ones are very stable and give me something firm to take any unforeseen stresses out of a situation.

    Sebring 2016

Hi Larry, it looked very unpleasant and thought at the time that you must have gone down hard on the left. All the best for a speedy recovery. I actually learnt a lot observing from the pits and look forward in getting a new V20 in April. It was enjoyable to meet the crew and it was a great...

Congratulations! Gosh I have many friends who live in Wisconsin not too far from you and tonight its -20c so be careful when you go out on the V. Nice big car park and figure of Eights for sure.

This is why I'm training indoor right now.....

Well here in Spain is a bit like Florida. However the mornings are a bit too brisk for me on the V. If I wait for the afternoon, the temperature is just right at 17c (63f), but the wind is cold and it blows quite a bit around 1pm. Yesterday I had a good ride and met friends in a restaurante for...

    Crank length

Well that's good news because I sure don't feel that. Joe, did you post a picture of your new cranks?

    Crank length

I gave myself a time trial on a 40 km loop with smaller cranks, I went down from 170mm to 165. I wanted to stick with Shimano Ultegra cranks as it's compatible with the Q Rings being used and that's the smallest they go. The rest of the money is going on race trim for the bike. Like new carbon...

    Robert's V20 build

The V is timeless. I guess the only difference for next year's model will be the paint job? In twenty years time it will probably be designed in a Graphene composite that grows like putting chrome on in an electrical way. Graphene is way stronger than carbon. I have an aluminium trek, its...

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

I had to use a rubber mallet to tap on the Q Rings onto the new crank.

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

As they say in Spain "Totalmente" (absolutely). After my aero bullhorns experiment I wholeheartedly concur. It actually makes me salivate (drool) !:D:D:cool::cool::cool: (way cool)

Disc brakes also weigh a little more and you have to be ever so careful engaging them in the wet.

V20 to Austria (-minus 5 degrees, Winter....)

Objects of desire.... The Shimano 6870 brifters to me are more interesting than disc brakes, my biggest irritation with disc brakes on road tyres is that they skid quite easily. Love the brifters; wouldn't mind them on the next build. Guess its a light touch and not so much travel with the...

    V20 to Sweden

T.C. You need to order the long gated deuralier to go with anything greater than a 11/28t cassette. You might be lucky as you are going for a smaller chain wheel set.

    V20 to Sweden

Well spotted Apollo, on my rotor rings I have 3 hole settings and I took the middle one, it looks good and performs well. I just looked up Bob's link for Q Rings and it appears ROTOR is now putting on more holes for the Shimano version. So guess I missed out a smidge. Chainreactioncycles still...

V20 to Austria (-minus 5 degrees, Winter....)

Hey Freygeist, I bet you got the white knuckles? Austrian roads are incredible but be careful in the wet. Best to go a little slower. The Vendetta is a most fabulous bike ... enjoy.

    V20 to Sweden

I had difficulty getting the bottom bearings. I haven't bought the following but I am thinking about it http://kogelbearings.mysimplestore.com/products/bsa-24-for-shimano-road-crank I am not sure of the dimensions of the V20 but pretty sure that would fit the V2.2

    V20 to Sweden

Hey T.C., CONGRATULATIONS That was a big decision. I have worked in Sweden for 6 months years ago at the SAS Flight Academy at Arlanda, you have most fantastic flat country with not so many hills and lots of woods. I really enjoyed my stay there. Swedish people are very friendly, and they...

    Bullhorn and Dropbar Options

That's a great discount but my Jabra pulse earbuds aren't Ant+ and I wont wear a heart rate belt or strap on my wrist. Guess that film "The Green Mile" had something to do with it. LOL Apparently...
