I ran into that with my conversion, too. The washer fix works for me and my wheel does not slip at all.
The stop thing had me scratching my head, too. I ran the screw in, but it doesn't do anything.

My bet is with the stiff link. Hold the front of the bike off the ground and turn the pedals slowly. Watch the chain and you should be able to see the offending link. Flex the chain a little from side to side around the tight joint and that should alleviate the problem.

Man..... I wish I was in position to grab this. I know it seems greedy and maybe slightly sinful, but I wouldn't mind having a second Silvio to set up as a commuter.
Somebody better jump on this really quick!

That's cool and I don't really mean to lecture. I just think if we, as cyclists, could drop our petty little pigeon-holing stuff and agree to come together as one voice, we could do some wonderful thing for ALL cyclists. The LAB does a pretty good job here in the US, but could use lots of...
  Aw man, I'm sorry. It's hard, though, not to be excited! If it helps any, I was in your shoes once. I got so sick of being jealous that I liquidated some bikes I no longer needed. Best decision I ever made. All hail the Kool-Aid!

Great report, Harold. Loved reading it. I agree about the increased power pulling yourself forward in the seat.
Don't take this the wrong way, but, one thing I dislike about some of the other recumbent websites is roadie bashing. They're just riders, too and the thing you need to remember...
The only thing I can suggest is to perservere. The first time is always the worst time.. I'd be willing to bet that the next time you roll it out, you'll do a little better. It took me about three evenings before I was even willing to try streets with traffic. You'll get it, though and the...
Yeah, you can, but you have to get right up on the back wheel. Probably closer than what most people are comfortable doing. It also helps if you're smaller in stature.
We did out weekly 'beginners" breakfast ride today. Today was our monthly challenge ride, so we climbed out to Cal State San...
Last night,I was talking to a friend about today's ride, discussing what we were going to do. He was talking about taking it easy; I said I wanted to push hard and "pedal 'til I puked". Not really, as there is nothing I hate worse than the technicolor yawn. I just meant I wanted to be fairly...
Oh yeah, people doing normal, everyday rides are happy with them. What I was talking about are guys doing double centuries, where you're out for 15 hours. My boss is one and I don't remember all his issues, mostly just his whines about battery life.

My favorite progress data? When people come wheezing up to you and ask you to ratchet the speed down a notch, or two! :D
That's pretty neat, Harold. I know a few people using the Garmin. My friends that do doubles whine a little about the battery life.

Thanks, everybody!
I am having fun and miles of smiles on the Silvio. This is a bike that really puts the fun into cycling. Fun, sporty, fast and responsive; it's a little two wheeled HPJ (human powered jet).
