First 200km brevet and new plans...

Yes they are, it should also be noted the test loop was selected to get those types of results; they aren't going to happen on the open road. But it makes comparing a lot easier with a controlled test loop Ditto; inspect often; tight as needed never over tighten.

Anyone ever use a trailer with their Vendetta?

Silvio yes; Vendetta no. Note: I had to have special wheels made for the trailer to handle Silvio speeds. I think I have the only Burlee trailer with Velocity A23 and DTSwiss Hubs.

Keeping the drills fresh and fun

20 minutes on hill repeats. 10 minutes on power 8's 10 minutes on ivans 20 minutes because after that I get sloppy power; and if I know I'm doing more I hold back. 10 minutes on the other because otherwise I lose focus from going in circle and laying the bike into deep deep turns requires...

Keeping the drills fresh and fun

3 quick examples of how to keep improving handling on the bike. Tonight's ride was all drills. Image 1: Power Figure 8's to practice hard pedaling through tight turns at 20mph+ average. Large parking lot works well. Image 2: Crazy Ivans to practice 180 reversals at speed 15mph+ average. Small...

First 200km brevet and new plans...

One more picture to help paint the picture. Here's a power comparison. This a graph of my all out power sprinting doing 15 laps up a short hill i use for training. Dark Purple is the Silvio with a 50mm extension. Red is the Vendetta Medium frame. As you can see. My 15s power on both bikes is...

    getting boom length fit correct

Hmmmm... I never considered pulling down. Crap I think I'm going to have to cut silver slider a little to get boom short enough to try that and that's at least a full days project maybe two. Larry you might have finally enlighten us to the crazy power you generate. I wonder if any one else is...

    Vendetta arrived work in progress

Especially if that thing you hit is unmarked two inch deep fresh chip seal gravel and warm tar/oil underneath. I have mastered the 24mph to 0mph sprint; none are faster; than me

    Q ring plunge and install

You are correct that 5th bolt is press fit and cannot easily be removed from the stock rings. I always keep some replacement bolts in the parts bing so I forgot to mention that when I suggested the removable spider version. Sorry about that. WickWerks has good instructions on how you install...

    Electric Quest

Only as an fyi for those following along: The stock 20" quest has a smaller chain stay. You can leave the long one on and maintain the BB height and still get the foldability. The other problems you noted of course remains. We have a longer chain-stay on one of our Quest 20" bikes and I much...

How I spent my Summer Vacation (an ongoing vendetta saga)

Had to abandon and go back to 165mm to get power meters that would work. 155 probably would be the optimal. Back on the todo list for a future project.

    questions about power meters?

Tried that, failed by 1.5 mm can't spread the clamps that far to get around the bigger cups. And we tried everything when could find to make it work.

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

Hey now that's a good observation; I just looked at some video footage from my safety camera and sure enough when I coast a turn my inside foot is always up between 11-1 on the clock; same as I would do on reflex on a DF. Looks like that habit carried forward. I mostly pedal through turns now...

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

Yes that sounds a tad long. We'll have to have Larry chime in too. Mine intersects where the spine and skull intersect about the height of my ears. I had to go to a Giro Air attack helmet to prevent hard interference from the helmet. Definitely air gap between the neck and the head rest if I...

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

Excellent progress; this is going to be fun, boarding on riotous, observing this from afar. Couple quick items: 1) I use the same front battery. Try putting the battery so that hangs under the boom, maybe about 4-5 inches forward of you photo. After a bunch of tweaking I've found that to be...

    Haters going to hate

That's the key; but remember even Duncan had put some premature miles in before he had his, wow those exercises do wonders moment and head back to the car park. He will now succeed and advance to do great things. Sorry to rat you out Duncan but your experience is very valuable to point to :p...
