    XShifter...new wireless shifting option

Latest update: their facebook page and website are listing first shipments July 1. I haven't seen anything about pre-production units out for independent tests (for folks like DC Rainmaker, etc.). I suspect that with all the setbacks, they're just going to be happy to have something going out...

Check your tires after each ride

That's gonna hurt! I had a cut tire once that allowed the innertube to blow out like a big chewing-gum bubble. I popped with a huge BANG! I had to go find a place to change my shorts.

Six day challenge (ride with cruzbike3kc in spirit)

Sorry, can't...as much as I'd like to. I think it is a great idea. I'll be playing "Mr. Furniture Mover" on Saturday and Sunday. Mother-In-Law is going into 'assisted care'. Miz Diane and I are "it" for the move. Maybe I can ride Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu after that task is done.

    Fighting residual wobblies

My hypothesis: wobbles are part of biking in general. However, because the typical riding position differences between recumbent and DF, any 'wobble' feels significantly different. Recovery from tiny wobbles on a DF is primarily a shift in balance, displacing shoulders and hips for small...

    QX100 Steering Mod

Ok, that's what I meant by moving E to H. Using the same pivot bolt for tiller and stem. Brilliant!

    QX100 Steering Mod

Color me confused. How do you plan on keeping the power triangle without a connection at E (which is part of Clamp B)? Unless...you plan on moving E to H? I would be surprised if the width of H matched the internal width of the fork @ E...but if it was close, excellent!

SRAM Road and MTB Component Compatibility - S40 Build

Yah, that's why I backed Xshifter. No more ratios to deal with...no more brifters or twists. Should be a far cleaner cockpit.

    QX100 Steering Mod

Clamp B binds the fork headtube and stem, keeping the fork from turning independently of the handlebars and transmitting torque from the power triangle thru pivot E and via the fork/chainstay/BB. The addition of Clamp G would similarly react torsion forces from handlebar to stem...but...

SRAM Road and MTB Component Compatibility - S40 Build

Yah, I'm running SRAM Rival 22 brifters and a GX 10sp rear D (on an 11sp cluster). They have the same ratios, work perfectly.

    Fun new accessories!

I have a tailbox, fitted to my V20. The box has two vertical grooves that the headrest tubes lie in. There's two aluminum clamping plates on the other side of the tube with a bolt thru the middle (between the tubes) of each. I can't take pix this week but if nobody else does, I'll do it as soon...

    Fun new accessories!

I'll reserve comment until we get up-close-and-personal pix. I am very shy of structure hanging off of tubing-clamps in a high-shock/vibration environment. I'm the guy who is always listening for things bouncing off the pavement behind him. Screws loosen, clamps fall off, etc. I just tore down...

    QX100 Steering Mod

Yah, I have the very similar TerraCycle "Glide-Flex" on my Optima Baron. It is very robust and would work just as well. I think a properly designed tilting/folding slider would be a wonderful addition to the V20...but I have no plans to use anything but the factory set-up. Once I learned the...

    QX100 Steering Mod

The torque forces from pedaling on a Q are xferred to your hands via the headset stem. The slip joint/clamp there is the weakest link (friction is the only thing keeping the handlebars in line with the system). Forces from the road are tiny (unless you're hitting a lot of ruts, etc.)...but...

    Fun new accessories!

I'll have to say that from this pic, it looks...um, 'inelegant'. While it appears to boost adjustability and range a lot, I don't like that it sits so close to the rear tire (top and sides). The tailbox puts a lot of stress on the headrest as it is. With a clamp/joint in the mix, I'd be looking...

    S40 transformed into F40?

Wasn't the pre-cursor to Cruzbike (pre-Tolhurst) a faired, socked MBB? I never can remember his name...Taylor, Traylor? (edit: Tom Traylor) Basically the earliest MBB and the basis for everything we ride today. Found it. Critical Mass II. 1998 HPV races. I have often thought that this could...

Anybody using a disc brake on the front wheel of new V20?

I basically ignored the TRP HY/RD setup...where it uses the lockout nut to set them up. I imagine if I had a cable puller, that might work a lot better. Lacking a puller, I simply used a pair of small vice-grips and my eyeballs to adjust the cable 'endpoint' shorter than with the lockout...

    Special RAAM Vendetta reveal

Very cool, Larry. I like how the brake levers align better with the airflow. Now you gotta start shavin' those legs!!:D

    Rear Trunk Storage Case

I can see that...add a couple of weapons pods, cockpit greenhouse on left... I like that it is built out of flat stock. Makes it really easy to fab. I'd do it out of .032 aluminum.

    Change Quest 2.0 to 3.0?

I wonder if they have any of those 'extended' forks left over? I'd get one for my V2/K.

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

Ooooh. Split clamps! Much mo' bettah. I'm still waiting for them to release this upgrade for the V20. With split clamps, I won't have to disassemble the crank & BB to do the swap! :emoji_thumbsup:
