T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

I'm sourcing an Origin8 crankset that is 155mm...but they offer 140mm. I'll be using an IGH (Shimano Alfine 8) but I think the Origin8 crankset should work fine as 1x11.

1 pic = 1000 words. Now I gotta go back and re-configure my seat build!

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

I knew the rubber grommets were for the two seat halves, no question there...same as the V2/k. I deduced that the clear washers were for the seat stay mount. I received 4 grommets and 3 clear washers. My seat skewers went in perfectly. Assembly was a piece of cake. The seat bottom does not have...

Couldn't stand it... 20170709_130827_resized by trapdoor2 posted Jul 9, 2017 at 6:11 PM Sitting on an old set of 27" tires/wheels. Not sure if the front would fit if it were pumped up...very little clearance there (not made for that wheel size. Duh!). There is a huge amount of room in the rear...

Ok, sports fans. I hate to tell y'all this...but somebody's paint shop is color blind. 20170709_110457_resized by trapdoor2 posted Jul 9, 2017 at 4:29 PM 20170709_110350_resized by trapdoor2 posted Jul 9, 2017 at 4:29 PM Not red. Neither is it RED. This frame is ORANGE. Really ORANGE. Like...

Hmmm. Just got back from Myrtle Beach, SC vacation and this box was in the foyer...I moved it out to the "workshop". 20170709_101948_resized by trapdoor2 posted Jul 9, 2017 at 3:23 PM I need to finish the V2/k 'rebuild' before I start on the T50...but I'm probably going to open the box in a few...

The more you know the safer you'll be on the road

And...all the strobes in the world can't protect you from the distracted. I like Jason's comments. Give yourself as much a chance to survive as possible. I'm always looking for a bailout option.

    Vendetta headrest

I've been planning to do this since I installed mine...just haven't gotten around to it yet. The plastic backer simply isn't strong enough to retain the screws. A spring/lock washer won't solve the problem. Bolts thru the plastic will do the trick.

    Chainring crash damage

I myself would probably hammer n dolly them back as straight as I could, gently file any sharp spots off and ride it until I could find a replacement. I think either 50 or 53 should work fine as long as they are spec. for a triple.

    2017 National 24-Hour Challenge

Glad you made it, nice report. Be very careful of the heat. My elder brother is currently in a hospital in Jupiter, FL for heat-stroke. Damned old fool went camp-fishing (tent, no A/C) in the Keys, got himself severely sunburned, dehydrated, etc. Attempted to drive home and was very fortunate to...

    XShifter...new wireless shifting option

Latest update: getting close! They have had problems with one of the plastic molds and with getting critical electronics components. One IC is on backorder, expected in 2 weeks. When you are a small volume business, your priority from any given manufacturer is always sitting behind their 'big'...

I've gotten no updates since the one on June 15 (see above). I get email updates since I'm a backer.

I like that in Larry's new profile picture, he's in top gear (big chainring up front, littlest cog in back). I would suspect that means he is simply smokin' down the road at that point...gotta be above 35mph (56kph). What bothers me is that he appears to have been caught doing all of the above...

Lots of bad weather coming into that area. Might be causing problems with the tracking. The live tracker looks like it is stuck on .9mi from TS51 but the results page shows they have checked in at TS52 (at 00:41...I'm thinking that was local time, about an hour ago). The Estimator sez they have...

Ok, about 5 mi to the top of the ridge (2,700 ft altitude) and then about 18 miles to descend 2,000 ft. Nothing like flying down out of Wolf Creek Pass...but it still should be a quick trip!

Looks like they have about 20 mi more on top of the plateau and then a long descent to TS48, Cumberland MD. They should pick up a little time on the GermanG8tors in the descent. However, the G8tors appear to be about 40 mi ahead, posting an overall average of 20.21 mph. Team Cruzbike's overall...
