    Build #7

The first build was the hardest after that its pretty simple. One reason Im using a hard tail is to keep the weight down even with a 4# frame the bike weighs around 36#.The Huffy steel frame weighed 9.5# without the forks . I Wouldn't worry about the weight that...

    Short cranks

First I emailed Mark Stonich to find out what he could shorten. Then found a set of 175 105s on ebay and had the seller send them to Mark. Short cranks

Just got a pair of cranks shortend to 153.Tried them out today on some decent hills and they work pretty good for me.I was getting some knee pain even with the Qrings. With Qrings and 153 I didnt get any pain at all even with some 8-9% long type hills. Jack

Yet another "How about this for a donor?" photo- K2 Evo

You cant ask too many questions around here. The crossbar is kind of high on that bike.I would be looking at frames that have the crossbar below the bottom of the headset. Jack

    A ride on the Huffy

Took a short 20 mi ride today around Marina Del Rey and back through the Venice board walk. There must be a lot of sick people there you can get high just from the air.Anyway the Huffy works much better than a cheap bike should. A hardtail is a pertty good way to go for a conversion.Im running...

Huffy Cruzbike ride and a few pictures

The ride is pretty good.I still like the cruiser bars you can put a lot of power on them. The forks work ok with and take the big hits pretty good. Handeling is ok got it up to 20 on bike path easily with a 50-34 compact crank. The weight is around 40lbs. Not bad for a 47$bike. Had to buy a 1in...
