Why are new bikes so heavy?

Hey all, My experience with "light" recumbents are that they aren't all that and a bag of chips - sadly most are flexy fliers and worse than their stiffer and heavier counterparts. There does seem to be a minimum weight you can realistically make a recumbent and still actually make it for an...

    new S40 colours coming March 31, 2020

Q: By chance will this new seat attachment system make the mounting of a Thor seat easier? A: Not necessarily. Maybe? Someone will have to experiment I suppose. It is not intended for that purpose necessarily. This is primarily a production/manufacturing change, allowing for the seat to be...

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the S40 2019 and S40 2020 model?

Stay tuned... I will say that major things are not changing - so, geometry, etc is all the same. Further announcements will be coming sooooon. :-)

Assault on the Carolinas Ride: No recumbents allowed?

So these race organizer clowns would discriminate against a fast disabled hand cyclist then for the same reasons? Discrimination and elitism at work, folks.

My First Trail Ride (an out of parking lot experience)

The biggest thing is to relax - when I see people carrying a lot of tension in their body its a good sign that their riding will likely take a long time to smooth out. That doesn't mean to fall asleep at the wheel though - you have to always be in control of the front end - don't over power it...

Recent Trade-in ONLY 10 MILES ON BIKE Ready for a New Home

That is not a version 1 - it has the bolt-on seat, so a second version for sure. the V1 had a seat that was welded onto the frame. The "bent slider" part - there were a few of those that floated around so that must have been acquired at some point directly from Maria or Jim, as they were never...

    Questions about brake rotor type

If you have 6b hubs you can get rotors anywhere. If you lose or strip a centerloc nut you are SOL.

    V20 frame, disc brakes, hubs

A 160 disc on the rear of a V20 is too much brake IMHO. A 140 is plenty there.
