S40 Question about Seat / Headrest / Turning

For a small amount of $ send an email to us at support@cruzbike.com and Marianne will hook you up with a set of the headrest tube/pad that comes with the bike. We have spares. The stock headrest setup on the S40 is pretty good for most people. Take a look inside the headrest holes at he top of...

Chain jump/slipping when increased pedal force used

Here is a good basic adjustment video. Youtube has several for sure. Note that there is a fine balance to adjusting a derailleur and usually adjusting one thing can impact another and the order of the adjustment is really important:

Also, ensure that the chain stay to boom interface is centered. Sometimes those clamps can be a bit loose and the stay it not nice and centered on the BB shell.

S40 Question about Seat / Headrest / Turning

Congrats on your S40! With some practice you will be riding like a pro. -The extender is for the front of the seat - to extend it if needed for a bit more of a platform for your butt to rest on. -I have never had an issue with the position related to the seat/main tube being close to the...

    Flat

Very good points. Also I have seen people go down as when they get a flat tire they seem to just physically cave and turn into a noodle and let the bike go down. Awareness is key and you have to be mentally and physically in control of the bike at all times, especially when you are going to be...

What stand works best for service?

I just use a standard Park Tool PC9 - just clamp around the boom or slider and let the back end hang down below the front a bit. Works perfect.

If you comeback do it with flare

Whenever I have added on the pounds I just consider it more of a bonus for my land missile downhill speeds. Hahaha

    new S40 colours coming March 31, 2020

This is true for the 2019. There is a slight fork crown change on the 2020 that reduces the clearance a bit there for a 30c or 32c (depending on rims/tire brand) for the front fork. This change however possibly allows for a caliper brake to be used (haven't tried that) and this is the best...

Making progress learning to ride hands free

Its like learning a good musical instrument - practice, attention to the details, and getting it to fit right end up paying huge dividends - and when you master it - it is amazing. Keep up the good work!

    S40 Electric Blue Build Specs

A big thing with the 11 speeds and these systems everyone should know - the real problems happen when you start to go way outside the norm of the stated ranges for the cassettes, etc. For a long time recumbent riders have been able to get away with gearing combos that - in reality - didn't make...

    Perfect handlebar for a V20

Please be aware - the rear stays of a Vendetta or V20 are already very very light and thin. They are not technically designed to be clamped on or have weight added to them in this way, so if you do this type of mod be very careful.

    S40 Electric Blue Build Specs

I would say the 2x11 is doable in whatever brand - but just can be extremely finicky. No experience personally with 2x12 and I don't really see the point or benefit of that. The chains are so narrow and cogs so close - this is the main reason the indexing is so hard. If I could run all these...

    S40 Electric Blue Build Specs

My professional opinion as a bike mechanic: If you go with 2x11 prepare yourself for a world of hassle getting the shifting right. As someone who likes to ride and not mess constantly with annoying adjustments (because that's all I do all day on other bikes) I would never install a 2x11 on ANY...

    QX100 Production History

The SN's do not give any clue to production year - they are 1000% random and because they are on the booms pretty pointless IMHO. The QX100 was an update to the original Quest and the years as stated above are accurate though in 2018 the Q45 (update to the QX100) was in effect and QX100's at...
