The Optimum Hip Angle for Maximum power?

Thanks for cheering me up. I have COPD, so I am already hypoxic. I guess I don't need the mask then. I suppose I am putting myself in the best condition to stimulate my blood vessels to grow. The fact that I haven't got cancer indicates that they are not doing so. I still like both my...

You end up with a unicycle.

An S40 in China. Loving the bike :)

Only your 4th go on the bike? Looks like you've been commuting on it for ages. They have a huge problem with people abandoning the hire bikes. There are millions of them. Loads of hire companies started up really quickly. Local authorities collect them into huge piles, but they are...

My Silvio, in honor of its origin, is called Bill the Bastard.

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

Brooks? Aravis? What you need is a bucket seat covered in Ventisit. Then you need to find a bike that fits underneath it.

Schwalbe Marathon tires don't quite fit on Silvio

Silvio 2.1 has a big lump of metal under the front fork crown which seemed to perform no function other than to make it impossible to accommodate a mudguard. I filed it. Many miles ago.

Shame about the air coming out. I put Tannus on my Grasshopper and the handling went a bit weird. Not good for doing 40mph.

Amazing how well the camera works when it is pointed almost straight at the sun.

Just doing that Cruzbike ambassador thing

I read about the MBB format and was not sure about it, so I got a conversion-kit as an experiment, because it was cheap. Relatively cheap, anyway. This is why the conversion-kit was a good idea. It was hard to get the hang of that thing - I think the donor was the wrong shape. But on the...

    bikist dog

I was overtaking a bunch of horse-riders on my Silvio. No oncoming traffic, so I went way over onto the wrong side of the road. Good job I did. This horse sort-of scrabbled a bit. for an instant I thought it was tripping over the pavement, then it kicked. I saw the underneath of the horse's...

    Well, hello there!

Flevo! Can you do a stoppie? It must be weird when you first ride a Cruzbike and the handlebars are going from side to side.

Wow! At last, someone has successfully hijacked this thread.

    Silvio S30 STOLEN, Oakland CA

Maybe they just tried to ride it and abandoned it, in which case MariposaLand is probably right. Maybe they were not thinking of taking the parts off.

Is that video the way to advertise Cruzbike? Scare the willies out of everybody?

Considering giving Cruzbike a second chance...

Yes. I think that if you do a lot of miles on one recumbent, then another one with different seat-height etc can be hard to get used to. This is going to make it even harder to learn to ride a Cruzbike. I was lucky that the Silvio has a similar riding position to the Grasshopper. I think it...

How long did it take you to get your "bent legs"

About 1000 miles. And getting the boom length, crank length and the bars right makes a lot of difference. Standing start in traffic. You are going to love that. Especially when you learn to do it.

    Working back into it

For years I have been saying that my power is limited by breathlessness. Two weeks ago they told me I have COPD. That would explain it. I will keep cycling. I still enjoy it, even though I know I will never catch Larry or Jason. Maybe I should build up my muscles by doing something...
