Who said that you cannot 'stand on pedals' on a recumbent?

When he does the jump you can see the tyre deforming. How long before he bends his wheel beyond repair?

Cut the shaft in half and put a Rohloff or Pinion there, so the two halves rotate at different speeds.

So it actually gets cold there.

With a IGH when you change you can jump several gears. I do not think this system will allow that. But as a fixie it would work. He says you can change the ratios by putting a different end on the shaft, but that would be a different radius, so the shaft would need to be sideways adjustable.

So, normally you have friction between the teeth of two cogwheels, but here you have friction within one cogwheel. So they have just moved the site of the friction. Does that reduce friction?

    A stoppie on a recumbent!!!

His wheel comes back down really gently. I think that takes perfect timing and pressure on the front brake. I have seen a picture of a HPVelotechnik Street Machine doing it. That is USS.

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

I think someone mentioned cutting a hole in the seat. This would direct it all through the holes into the hydro-formed bit. Explosion?

    First Crash On the Vendetta

Same problem for me on my Silvio. If you have normal drop-bars in the normal DF position, the curves where you normally put your hands are forward of the clamp. So on a DF, you lean over the bars and the stem points towards your sternum. If you put bars like this on a Silvio or Vendetta, the...

Riding in the cold (not really) poll

I put warm clothes on. But I found that recumbents are warmer than DF.

    Hot in Essex

31 miles today in 29 C. Before I went I filled my guts with water. I stopped halfway and filled my guts with the water I was carrying. When I got back I think I was dehydrated. I filled my guts with water again. Nicest water I ever tasted. My Silvio feels at home in this Aussie weather...

Taking On The Hour Record - On A Penny Farthing?!

I hope to live long enough to see what kind of helicopter emerges from the shed of Balor.

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

My ankles used to touch the ends of the BB axle. I was always trying to turn my feet in. I rode my Grasshopper for years like that. I found out about pedal extenders when someome on this forum mentioned them. So now I have them on both bikes. No difference in handling on the Silvio. I can...

    extremely steep hill climb

My power meter is my cardiovascular system. When the gradient keeps changing it is hard to keep a constant effort. Maybe I should move to Holland. On my original Claud Butler, which thieves took from me, was a Brooks suede saddle. Very comfortable.

Taking On The Hour Record - On A Penny Farthing?!

That Crypto has a very short wheelbase. There is a cable running along the frame. Does that lever operate both brakes? Where are the brake callipers? No rake, no trail. Balor must have ridden one of these in a past life.

    Front wheel change is tough!

I may be daft, but why not? And why bother splitting the chain? I replaced the front tube of my Silvio in the street. I laid the bike down sideways. You cannot stand it upright anyway because of the gears.
