Taking On The Hour Record - On A Penny Farthing?!

Go on, Jason, you are thinking about it, I know. If you can do that mountain track on your Trek, you can do it on a penny-farthing.

    How to Pedal Steer

I have heel-clips made from toe-clips. Easy to get in and out of them. I also have pedal extenders because they let me turn my feet out. If it walks like a duck... Now you have given me a worry about my b bracket shell cracking. Now I think it is good that my Silvio has the old type of BB...

    how to stop wobbling

All the time I get told not to go to sleep by people in the street. I can't believe that someone who rides a 'bent said it.

    Front wheel change is tough!

Wax is good. I do not know whether it is faster, but it is so nice to be free from the black gunge.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Which will inflate the price of proper warm flat English beer. The shortage will force people to an ordinary pump when they have a proper flat tyre.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

We've been sending people over there for 200 years and none of them have started a pub? And have they forgotten how to brew beer? Put Fosters on your boom. That should weld it.

    How to Pedal Steer

If you push the pedal forwards when it is pointing upwards you are applying torque to the steering-axis. If you push the pedal down when it is pointing forwards you are pushing along a vector parallel to the steering-axis, so no steering effect. Try to put more effort into pushing down. Hard...

Things to can do on a TT bike that you can't do on a Cruzbike

Keep it raw. If you are processing it, compress it at the end of the process, or as near the end as possible. This applies to noises as well as images. I hate these cameras that process the image automatically and you can't disable it. My camera, I will use it how I like. I know if it is...

    First long ride today

I do not know how I would feel after 100 miles, but I know I would feel a lot worse on a DF. When it's windy, hot and hilly a DF is silly.

Things to can do on a TT bike that you can't do on a Cruzbike

You were lucky. I ride a 'bent because that sort of thing is less likely. You fell off into a plant. Face-plant. Did it have thorns? I know there are some serious thorns in that part of the world. You say you edited it down from two hours. Two hours on that track on that Trek! No wonder...

My knees agree with those of super slim. Short cranks are good.

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

Definitely. I always think I am strong enough to go faster. I used to try, but each time I did I got so breathless I almost had to stop. I learnt to keep my watts down so I am only slightly breathless. Trouble is, this is really low watts. Climbing is long and slow.

Fully suspended MBB with 90 deg steering angle.

That should be interesting. Can't wait to see it. Good idea for commuting - it will wiggle easily through the pedestrian barriers and around the pedestrians.
