Back at you tribe, in no fit state! Belated happy Christmas. May your new year be happy, prosperous, free from punctures, free from stupid motorists and blindingly fast.

    Flat Pedals

Below is an image of my heel-clips, which I made out of toe-clips. Very easy to get my feet in and out. Power on the downstroke. Normal shoes.

    I cut the boom

The brakes were really hard to adjust and the bike was really hard to stop. Eventually I realised that the lever-throw was restricted. I turned the levers over so they pointed down instead of up, which solved that problem, but the bar-end shifter was hard to reach. So I got new levers. Now I...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Similar to mine, but I have the brake levers pointing up. I tried downward-pointing levers, but they made the shifter hard to reach.

    Greetings Cruzers

Greetings Cruzer! You are going to like the bike. You are going to like the forum. My journey to Cruzbike involved a lot of miles on a RWD 'bent, and like you, I discovered that a Cruzbike does not lean very much. If you think, as you enter the turn, that you are doing it right, then you are...

I spotted you in Chico today!

I saw someone on a Silvio in Romford, Essex, UK. I was going past a shop selling full-length mirrors and I glanced sideways for a moment and there I was.

    Took The Plunge (figureatively)

I have Microline cranks and BB made by a company called Redline. They are 5 bolt 110 BCD. You need the BB because they are Redline's own design.

    Took The Plunge (figureatively)

I agree with ratz. What he said is theory, and I experimentally verified it. I ride on my insteps, which gives me a short effective inseam. I have my Grasshopper telescoped right in, so I decided to cut the Silvio slider. Unmistakeable immediate improvement. I do not regret it. I also like...

    11 speed drive train

I like the xx1 on my Silvio. I hate double chainwheels. I have a Raceface wide-narrow 42t chainwheel. I made myself a bar-end friction shifter. The chain seems okay going so far sideways. The chainwheel barely clears the frame. I put a washer on the B bracket axle to move the right crank a...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

This implies that you are less directionally challenged than you were. There is progress!

    S30 Max. Xseam advice please.

Is there a lot of space between the bars and your legs? I cut the slider short (I said I cut the boom, but ReklinedRider was right, it was the slider). Thus I was able to push the bars forward without moving the B bracket. Big decision because it is irreversible, but I still think it was a...

Anyone willing to talk to a reporter about ED and cycling?

"Wow, you need big balls to ride that!" "At least I don't squash 'em!"

Climbing and bb height, low gears

I had Continental Contact on my Grasshopper and they seemed to be made of incredibly stiff stuff. So much so that it took a long time for me to notice I had a flat. Fast, wear-resistant and almost impossible to get on and off the wheel.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

You need a hill that goes down and then up. Or a very strong wind blowing uphill. This I know about because I used to hang-glide.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

You do not need chain or cables. You need a hill.
