    S40 frameset build options...

Barend shifters can look pretty retro, if you like that sort of thing! :emoji_nerd: My handlebar is an On-One Midge bar. They are flared dropbars for road touring and gravel/cyclocross bikes. Please note: they will not work with MTB trigger shifters...

    S40 frameset build options...

:) It's not my blog! It was written by Nick E. About the Soma Gator bar, I understand it has MTB diameter hence the Eagle trigger shifter should work , I believe. But I think the cable routing will stick out in an interesting way. However I use barend shifters myself ( racheted friction type...

Why are new bikes so heavy?

One other disadvantage I find with rim brakes besides the effects of water and road grime in wet conditions is that on my home built MBB , it rubs against my legs slightly at the front wheel. Given, this depends on the bike design, seat position, rider's pedaling style e.t.c but it can be...

Why are new bikes so heavy?

25.8 lbs for an alloy recumbent with disc brakes and pedals is not bad at all! I wonder how low it can get with a climbing wheelset and 1x drivetrain? Can it get to 22 or 23 lbs? When I first built my homemade MBB, it weighed more than 19Kgs (41lbs). Funny how our perception of weight changes...

We did it! We donated to buy an S40 for Ak-Tux!

I have no words. I may not know all of you that got together to do this, but Iam humbled by your generosity. I don't deserve it but Iam deeply grateful to you all. To Jim and Maria Parker, I shall do my best to represent your great company whenever I ride that beautiful bike . The Bible says...

An S40 update 350 miles in

It practically is equivalent to the last S30s with a rigid frontend. Theoritically, It should be a very fast bike! I wouldn't mind having it;). A Silvio 2.0 with an S40 frontend triangle would be super!

An S40 update 350 miles in

I personally found that there is an optimium point at which the relationship between the seat position and the bottom bracket postion gives you the highest power output. I don't have a formula yet, but I kept tweaking my bike until one day, it seems, something just clicked. Now the bike rides...

    The Perfect Recumbent-DF Draft?

You probably need a recumbent rider friend similar to your age and power. Then a recumbent that is not too low like an S30 or S40. It feels great to be synchronised and glide like a single unit as you overtake other riders!

    The Perfect Recumbent-DF Draft?

One of my cycling club buddies drafts my recumbent so well. Recently a profesional photographer took a picture and it looked like we are on a tandem :)

    S30 for sale < 200 miles

This is a rare model of an S30. The last version before S40. It was unique in that it had a rigid front and a suspended rare end. Then topping it all up with a moderate seat reclne angle of 33deg . It's a rare gem! If I was living in the USA and with the $$$$ I would buy it without hesitation.
