    Question for the older riders

Up through age 70 I only got faster and went farther. At 71, that trend stopped pretty dramatically. Now at 72 I can barely get up the shallowest hill, and speed is a distant memory. I suspect most of us have a wall and I clearly just hit mine. -Dan

    Heart rate monitors?

The most interesting thing I ever learned from my HRM was that my pulse increased by ten with the simple act of riding out onto Oracle Road. -Dan

    Heart rate monitors?

Here's one way to look at it. Forget speed. Forget cadence. Once you know what heart rate you want to be working at, that monitor is the only gauge you need, especially if you are near your maximum. Climb that hill without worrying about your chest exploding! -Dan

    S1 instruction manual

Along with the unique "rear" derailleur hanger of the Silvio v1.0, the mounting of the front derailleur is also unique - your choice of four pairs of threaded holes. Any time you radically change the bottom bracket location, whether by sliding the boom or adding/subtracting an extension, you...

Hit a nerve with this guy on youtube comments

They didn't run me off. I just learned to use the "ignore" setting in their profiles. That was a pretty rough time though. Actually I should thank those guys. They were so obviously full of crap that I decided to see for myself and bought my first Cruzbike. -Dan

    S40 Handle Bar Question

I think yeah you might just be. I think of my bar tape as a really long grip. Like four grips really, on both sides of each brifter. -Dan

    GONE - Silvio v1 - $1000 - Lakewood, CO

I had been thinking I might sell my Campy-equipped v1.0 in favor of an S40, but then I came to my senses. Regret prevention is a thing. -Dan

Learning to Ride a Vendetta question?

Expect a huge issue with going back and forth at first. Some suggest not even trying until you get comfortable on the Cruz (and have stopped pulling on the bars All The Time), and even then the first ride back on your RWD will likely be appalling. Once that horror show has abated, you shouldn't...

Cheapish rear shock comparison. Kind air shock dual V DNM 22 coil

If I were designing a forum I would let you upload pics directly to a message and then they would automatically go to your media gallery. Right now it's the other way around, and nothing is automatic. -Dan

Cheapish rear shock comparison. Kind air shock dual V DNM 22 coil

It was already old when I got it ten years ago. Every time I ride it I think, "This is the last bike I will sell." This pic is from last November. -Dan Hurri_swamp_rabbit by hurri47 posted Jan 15, 2019 at 11:49 AM

Cheapish rear shock comparison. Kind air shock dual V DNM 22 coil

Thanks for this writeup which comes at a good time for me. The coil-over on my antique (steel) Hurricane, which is probably the original, has lost its damping ability and I was considering an air shock. I guess not. -Dan

The 150mm extension was too long for me, but I'm at least three inches shorter than you. Your feet do look kind of low in your avatar. -Dan
