12 years of ‘free rider’ and I finally went ebike conversion.

Well I have loved this bike for a long time. Then last winter my fat tire bike was stolen but the thief only got the bike leaving me with a 48volt battery sitting in the house. So... I bought a ‘front wheel’ hub motor and put it on the back. I mounted the controller on the back of the seat to...

What bike seat bag fits the Freerider ?

I use the old man mountain bike rack and panniers when I'm set up. I also use just a shoulder bag slung over the seat: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZiNy2vaiqnZK8zqR9

    Fenders on a Freerider?

Way late to this conversation... but I used these https://www.planetbike.com/store/products/bike-accessories/bike-fenders/alx-cascadia-atb-black-aluminum-bike-fenders-20-medium-50mm.html I put the front one on the back and the other way around too. So it looks like the picture...

    Cruz Trike?

Hello all, I live in Canada in a town that lacks that ability to really clean the roads. This leaves me in some deeper snow with lots of hidden ice. For the most part I don't want to be cruzbiking (even with the studded tires) So I'm thinking about putting a "trike" back end on, and...

    Slow Riding

I've been riding with my 3 yr old. She's too fast to walk with but rides about 6-8km/h. This is great for balance. If you can ride really slow with no hands it also shows you how your feet are fighting with the your hands and the steering. Good times.

    Aluminum Crutch Trailer

I was inspired by the one wheel bike trailers that I've seen around the net, and then I found a tire a pair of aluminum crutches in the alley and was hoping some people here can give some feedback on the overall design before I go and make them. Here is what the back wheel looks like: And...

Great bike to convert... I think

I dunno... it seems like a good one if anyone in Canada is looking to upgrade... assuming this TREK bike is actually good. http://saskatoon.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-sports-bikes-Trek-Mountain-Bike-for-sale-W0QQAdIdZ81438070 Just an FYI post.

    Skewer Rod Change

Hello... in the vain of 'fool proofing' the bike, I have managed to strip out the skewer rod on the bike while attempting to attach the bike trailer part that hooks onto the rear axle. So... now that I'm in for a new skewer, I was wondering what it would take to change the size of said Skewer...

    Water bottle holders.

Perfect fit! The under seat bag works perfect and fits between the water bottle holders. And.. since my last name is Bell, it works out double good. :D

    Tall Riders

I'm 6'1" (no idea of xseem) but no problem with knee hitting. Handlebars could go higher if I needed :)

    Rack

I've thought about the seatpost thing too. I'm 160 pounds (on a good day) and so adding more weight onto the suspension was something I thought to avoid... Do you think that the race weight would add much of a difference? Mostly I'm looking to haul my macbook and papers from home to office. I...

    Rack

    Cruzbike-a cure for midlife crisis?

In the end it is a small price to pay for your sanity. I think you'll love it that much. Welcome!

    Getting ready for winter...

I'll take the cold over the heat anyday but... it's the drifted snow over ice ruts that get me.

    Switch backs

I have to climb out of the river valley twice on my communte and the uphill switchbacks were a challenge at first. What I found that works is to basically sit up a little and shift by butt slightly to the side to keep my hips in line with the pedals. This helped with the problem of losing the...

    Getting ready for winter...

Well... I rode up till January but then I took a 2 week vacation and didn't get back into it. Saskatoon does a pretty bad job of cleaning the streets and the residents aren't much better at cleaning the walks so... it isn't really safe to ride any bike here when the snow gets thick. The times...

    Under seat bags

This might be a helpful link to create an underside bag: http://www.faculty.virginia.edu/guilford/pannier.htm Just need to use bigger hooks off the bag to reach under the seat.

I know that fixed gear is in but...

    Heater

Yup... hard to get out and ride on days like these... Saskatoon: Light Snow, -17?C (feels like -28?) Wind: 29 km/h, direction ESE It's actually awesome... sortof like an extreme sport... the silence of the paths, the crunch of the tires on the ice, covered head to toe in fleece etc... it's...
