@bladderhead
yes. just give me a little time.
one advantage to mbb fwd is the proximity to the wheel that you cannot have in rwd, (look at rob's black bike and the distance the bb has to be to accommodate the chainring and crank). but one issue is the sheer amount of tubing to do an effective front end, and then something that doesn't stick up in the air, and that doesn't have a ton of tiller.
cb has a fixed seat and marco runs a fixed front end. so does JM. this is one of the benefits of cb over full customs. but the advantage of a full custom is the ability to firm up the front end thru fixed tube and stays.
if you go back and look at warren's work, you also see some innovation that was carried into his carbon bikes.
dropping down over a front 700c is a factor for the long legged. short legs will have trouble making the distance and then turning will also be a new set of issues. the distance between the front axle/the bottom of the head tube and back to the seat back is important in low speed handling.
the other thing about customs is the height from the seat pan to the bb. speedy aero guys tend to go 8" and more above, slow torque comes where the bb is at pan height and ease of ride come best when bb is below with a more upright rear seat. CB can move that up and down some.
the trick with steel is also some of the flex and some of the weight. which is why we see the carbon.
the cb fram in alum does a lot of great things wiht the hydroforming.
but, i have some ideas. i just need to brush up on my skills, which are quite rusty...
the world needs a guy making these in Renyolds or Columbus. maybe even with pretty lugs. maybe i am that guy.
I have a few other types i want to do. all i need is a little time.
