    V2/K Frameset headtube size?

Yes The V2K frame is a Sofrider V2 frame painted white. The seat is included with the conversion kit. You'll need a 27.2 mm seatpost and clamp to complete the seat mounting. The headset is included with the frame, as is the shock. Cheers, Doug

Can I convert this Columba bike (which I own)?

Charles is right Several Dahon 20" folding bikes have been converted, and they have a similar hinge in a similar place on the frame. It takes a little fiddling, but it can be done. DefJack is one of our most experienced conversion builders, and he has converted a folding bike before...

Would this T type be a good donnor bike?

Could work... The seat height will be a little high, and you'll need to re-route the rear brake cable from on top of the top tube, unless you want to route it through the seat pan bracket. My rule of thumb is the seat height should be no taller than about 3 inches less than your inseam...

Help needed: how to dismantle swingarm pivot

Swing Arm Axle The swing arm axle is made in two pieces. On one side there is a 6mm Allen head cap screw that threads into the other half of the axle. On the other side there is a 10mm Allen "relief" cut into the axle half itself. The two axle halves fit into each other, frequently...

    Transporting a converted bike?

Hmm... If you loosen the stem and turn the handlebar 90 degrees, and remove the rear wheel, will it fit in the trunk? Also, if this bike has a rea swing arm, can you disconnect the rear shock and fold the swing arm up under the frame? You could probably substitute a seatpost quick...

    24" donor

A couple of things First, make dure you've maximized the available recline. Do this by mounting the post clamp with the nuts behind the seat post (this bike was built from the same frame you're using): You can't bend an aluminum seat post; it will flatten and fracture...

    24" donor

24" donors should work fine for you Bending the seatpost is a popular option, as is using a longer stem to get the bars further away from you. To post a picture, click the "picture" icon just above the text box, use the second tab on the pop up to upload the picture from your computer...

    A bolt missing?

Swing arm attachment Sylvain, The swing arm is attached to the frame using a swing arm axle that has a single bolt going through the middle of it. The shock absorber should have a special bolt/nut assembly at each end.

    Carbon Wheels?

Rim Depth... Peder, I think the numbers you are referring to are for depth of the "aero" cross section of the wheel rim. I don't think varying this will affect the performance of the tire; most rim widths are 14mm to 19mm for road clincher wheels. Cheers

Is the Quest 2 front shock adjustable?

From Sheldon's website... http://sheldonbrown.com/headsets.html "Diatech" headsets from Dia Compe use a special pair of collars, usually mounted just below the stem and above the top race. The lower collar has a beveled, conical top surface, which fits inside of a matching bevel on the...

    Vendetta Build-Up

Two types of external BB bearing shells... Campagnolo appears to use two types of bearing shells for the Ultratorque BB systems: Since the Park BB removal/installation tool is the same for Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo systems (BB-19), I suspect that the second illustrated...

    Vendetta Build-Up

Campy... Hi Jim, The Vendetta requires an external bearing bottom bracket with bearing shells of a specific size to attach the chainstay assembly. I have Campy Comp Triple components on my Silvio V1.0. Those won't work because they use a traditional internal bearing bottom bracket, so...

The BB's Fixed Cup on the Tiara...

Another approach After thinking about it a bit, the Tiara BB is mounted to the swing arm, which is steel. Heating the BB shell will still work, but if you want, you can dismount the swing arm from the frame and lock the offside BB cup (should have two flats machined into it) into a vise. This...

The BB's Fixed Cup on the Tiara...

It's a standard low-cost reverse-thread English BB... ... and it's probably just stuck. Use a heat gun and heat the BB shell warm enough where it's uncomfortable to touch. This will expand the shell enough to break the cups free. These bikes are assembled in very warm factories (100...

Nice Conversion for sale - Brisbane

Well-done conversion Deserves a good home - would be hard to duplicate for the asking price given the component selection. Sorry to hear of your accident - best of luck to you. Good luck on selling this great bike. Cheers, Doug

    My rookie attempt

Outstanding Conversion! I thought it was a V2K frame when I first saw it. What was the donor bike for this conversion? Seems to have perfect seat height and the lower front fork configuration is excellent for accepting the adapter brackets. A textbook job there, and a great...
